It has been a while since I made any YouTube content. Life sort of got in the way. Now that things are ok again, I wanted to focus on making YouTube content again, and I figured I’d start with a segment from my Ashes 101 show on Twitch. I agree. This guy just hates circumstances and is jealous so he wants to cheat to get an advantage. You're not entitled to play the game at the level of someone else.
Someone is always going to have more time, more money, and more skill than you. LIFE IS UNFAIR! That transfers into the game. But they want to spoil the entire experience by bringing real world gold into the mix.
ffs this guy sounds so incredibly toxic and elitist, all his points are of the "I do X, so why would i have to do the same things as these useless people who are only WASTING their time on a GAME" omfg, this guy HAS to be sarcastic right?
This forum post made me so mad, I was bashing my desk just reading his take. Why are "fathers" now so entitled to just buy "epic swords" from a shop and not want to do the content required to get said sword?! It seems to me that a regular RPG would fit just right for this individual. You can play as little or as much as you want and NO ONE will be stronger than you other than the NPCs. Go play that instead of ruining MMOs like Ashes.
I play video games 40 hours a while working my ass off irl. I choose to play video games because I enjoy video games more than I enjoy going out knocking up girls, and wasting my hard earned money away on alcohol that will kill me faster than a gaming habit
Some people these days just don't understand that gaming is a real hobby that people enjoy more than what those people like. I cannot just hit the bar when I get off work like everyone else, I cannot go out with friends and honestly it is very hard to find local friends. I work 10 pm to 6 am when I'm not doing over time. I work 6-6 when I am doing over time. I cannot do much other than gaming most of the time. I really hate when people blanket gamers as gamer goblins living in their mothers basement.
I see the paranoic Marzzo is still posting on the forums about random topics that don't really have a solution. Not to mention that gold duping is a bug. Fix it and they can't dupe it.. Buying and selling gold is an entirely different thing. A lot of elitism in his statement as well.. Interesitng.
BY THE WAY THIS IS FUNNY.. I live in Eastern Europe. I probably earn a lot more than this gumbo and I still game 4-5 or more hours a day. So I guess the blombo is jealous.
EDIT: At the end of the day.. buy the sellers and ban the buyers… Announce it publicly and shame the fuckers.
Haven't seen the whole vid yet, but this guy specifically, and many others who act like him, are why I've stopped being active on the forums. Long winded paragraphs that say nothing, and people who aren't interested in having a conversation, only in being right.

There was a lot of good input in that forum post, but sadly Marzzo is not a very open minded person. There were a lot of bad input and stupid replies in that discussion, but there were also some good ones. It feels like even if Steven himself replied with a "solution", the OP would still dismiss his idea.
The forums have some interesting discussions, but you really need to filter some of what you read, because there are some weird folks there.
I hope they watching what's going on New World – Amazon , how to not be a shit hole game, 1 week all economy go to the limbo … no regreat…. only a fresh start ( maybe ) can fix that crap
One of the solution to gold sellers was actually non-resale boss drops.
No point having gold if you cant 'buy' what you need to progress, but must particpate in the content instead.
Fundamentally, at the end of the day, its physically profiteering out of the capability of currency/gold to bypass content/effort/grind.
Besides, its also about the ability to trade ingame gold without anything returning the other way.
If the relative 'two-way' value of any trade is checked/tagged/bagged, you can spot the exchange of gold for nothing.
Anything else is simply trade anyway.
By the way though. If a game excludes you from content, because you dont have the time or money to participate. You wont keep many customers.

I would absolutely not spend $300 for an in-game item. Wouldn't even spend $10. I'd rather play the game and have fun getting new gear because otherwise you're just paying to have the game played for you.

Hey Jahlon, i hope i dont formulate my sentence wrong so i can give you my thought on your comment, that some people like you arent Goblins living by mum but instead wealthy. But would this not also considered pay 2 win ? or am i wrong thinking about that ? because 99% of ppl are not wealthy to stay at home so they rather put the money to catch up? isnt money = time ? i mean yes you have both money and time but does this put you on an even playground ? or did i misplaced the whole point ? i hope my thought is brought on point, i would love reading your answer, greetings Jahlon and great Vid
Marzzo's tentatives at justificating gold buying are quite ludicrous, if someone is "delusional" about the topic, it's probably him.
Hey i obviously agree with your take on gold selling overall but the way you argued was kinda meh. For example you choose to use the minimum wage to calculate the value of the grind, which is probably less than the average wage to make his statement valuable. Then on the other hand you use a non relevant amount of people who get 6 figures wage for doing nothing to support your argument. Then you complain that he didn't add statistics to his post, while you made statements without giving statistics too.
