Will Large Guilds Dominate Ashes of Creation?

This is one of the most common questions many people have about Ashes of Creation. And of course, until we get into Alpha 2 and start testing these systems we are speculating heavily here. But, I thought I would weigh in on this topic. This is one I have wanted to do for a long time, and finally got to it!

This one took me a lot longer time to make than I thought it would! It’s a complicated and important subject so it needed to be done right. Hope you enjoy it!

  1. This one took me about 15 hours to make. Quite a bit longer than I thought it would. So I will be taking next week off from making videos to focus on some other stuff I got behind on, and the Archeage Unchained Fresh Start which I am doing for the Ashes vs Archeage video. Let me know your thoughts and I will see you all in a few weeks!

  2. Intrepid might place triads of Castle Nodes to cover the most obvious locations for powerful Metropolitan Nodes, negating centrality. Vassal Networks would have to "curl" around Castle Nodes, and that might be the major focus for Sieges.

    If the economy works well, smaller Guilds might be important cogs in the economy as a whole. The demand for lower and mid tier gear, and supplying materials.

    I suspect control of Freeholds will be the real key to the economy. Processing may be key, especially ores into ingots.

    P.S. I don't yet have an MMO lifestyle, with real life in person gaming taking precedence, but I will try to put in some hours into Archeage during the wee hours this weekend.

  3. I really hope they are not increasing the number of players in a siege to 500vs500.
    With 250vs250 an alliance of 3-4 medium sized guilds (like 50-100ppl) could take on a big guild and get a castle from them, or defend it from them.

  4. owning a Freehold having Blacksmith and Smelting up very high in a location on a big server
    i hope is gonna be a good buisness, taking that Repair fee cut and other stuff u can sell to all players if u get an spot in a popular area
    combine that with another guildie/friend with its Freehold close to yours that focuses on other professions 😛

    my plan atm is being a Tank with Blacksmith/weaponsmith and Smelting
    i wanna craft my own bad ass legendary weapon and shield, since if i remember right shields belonged to the weapon category not armor

    maybe go crazy and on a alt have Blacksmith/armor smith also
