Ashes of Creation is an open world MMORPG set in a fantasy environment where you can choose different classes and races to adventure through with your friends. Intrepid Studios is the developer behind the game. They’re technically an indie studio, but their creative director Steven Sharif has a clear vision for his video game: Massively Multiplayer Role Playing Game. He wants to put the massive back in MMO. Exploring dungeons, griding for gear, crafting armor/weapons, learning new spells, and competing in large scale PvP battles. High end PvE such as raids will mainly occur in the open world. Bosses will spawn and roam through the land. Are YOU ready to enter the world of Verra?

  1. 5:10 hopefully extra depth, after maxing out a recipe if you come back to it at higher ranks it adds to stats. Example; say min recipe of copper sword made when Journeyman is 10 damage, max recipe journeyman 15 damage. Then come back to it as Grandmaster and now its 20 damage.

  2. Love your work will link it for my guild mates. After decades of playing MMOs AOC is shaping up to have by far the best artisan system. The proof is in the pudding but oh boy it's looking good, A2 can not get here soon enough.

  3. Ohhh!!! I thought you were an OG MMO gamer. I didn’t realize New World was your first social experience in an MMO. When I see Ashes being built I see community over mechanics as the underlying theme. New World missed the mark for that.

Whenever I meet new people in the Ashes community I’m always most excited for those who missed out on the social construct of MMOs like UO and Eve. As great as the info in this video is, what I’m taking away from it is that you’re in for a real social treat, and that excites me! ❤❤

  4. I think AoC is really pushing people to join groups and make friends. I think one of the ways is to make guilds less important and make people unite around nodes. I think guilds will end up being political factions vying for power within nodes.

  5. I'm still friends with people from way back in 1998 playing Ultima Online together. some i have met in real life others i have not, some have died.
What ashes is doing is making a community, some might think it's forced, while us that are used to it will slide into it like a familiar glove.
    Great video!

  6. See… this is weird. In the video it shows that the blacksmith is "mining", "smelting" and then forging the materials into a sword ("weaponsmithing") I thought the game dev designed that you can only pick one profession (gathering or refining or crafting) ? But then; what kind of weaponsmith who doesn't know how to mine the material / process it?

  7. While I unfortunately don't have the friends from my time back in high school or the years just after, where I did the majority of my MMO playing before adulting took over for a while, I hope to one day make those kinds of friends again. Communities like LoreForged have really helped me break back out of my shell, and I can't wait to meet even more people as I start along the path of content creation and eventually can put my time into this amazing game we are all so stoked to play. I agree on all your points here, and I'm excited to see what they give us next in the realm of artisanship!

  8. Yeah I can relate to you! I found the love of my life when I played Lineage 2 back in the days… Ashes is bringing that vibe back making the players need to interact, craft social interactions and above all have fun while doing so!
I can't wait for Alpha 2 to play with my other half

  9. 7:50 actually about Gathering and processing, neither actually are things you can do really by yourself for the main reason that if you're Gathering by yourself then you're easy pickings for a group of PKer's never mind if you decide to sell your gathered materials in a different town to sell them for a better price and as for processors, there's going to be a lot of resources you have to transport to and from your Freehold never mind the same exact issue for gatherers also applying where you also need to make sure when you go to sell your resources, you transport them to the node where they're going to sell for the highest level you can get while not being so far as to mean you lose money in a time you waste getting the materials there or the money you pay to a caravansary to actually do the transporting and selling for you
