Attention to detail is such a big and overlooked part of video games
They can create how the game feels
They have a much bigger impact than most people thing imo
People appreciate games with details as it shows the commitment and care a dev puts into creating a game.
a game with no details feels like the dev doesn't really care about the game, so why should i care about it
I get the strange feeling all of us ESO content creators are going to jump ship all at once when AoC comes out in 2025…and I'm excited for it!
I'm going to get it, almost done building my pc and am stoked to try a bunch of other games.
Id rathered be "interested" about the game at this point. If the game is released and if its good ill get "excited" about it.
Would love something like this for xsx π
No expectations so won't feel much disapointment, but at the time this thing will come out I will probably be in my forties. 64 class combination seem broken for pvp balance, one faction dominance over the map, lootable player housing/caravans meaning loss of progress when offline, dev hate on combat analyzing tools and drop chance penalty on death in pve are the main scepticism of this game. DO NOT overhype this game and maybe something good will be out of it.
Remember, New World also was initially a open world full loot pvp game.
So stoked for this game, PvP is gonna be sick.
Definitely keep us updated on this game. I really wanted to play this game when I first heard about it. Looks like a pc only game π₯Ί.
Beautifully worded. So excited. See you in the alpha!
Eso for lyfe!!
That's what you get when lead dev is actually passionate about mmorpgs. It's not just some faceless corporation behind it but people who actually cares.
the rats are always the first to leave a sinking ship…
jk, good video and some good points covered off!
PC only
NO SHOT!!! I WAS HOPING YOUD PLAY THE GAME WHEN IT COMES OUT π±π± I want to see your build videos and your theory crafts, your thought process when playing that game. You are the only ESO creator I really watch so I'm hyped about this announcement
Cautiously optimistic!
It looks too good to be true and we've all experienced the hype train before.. But the PvP focus sounds amazing, will it cause the primarily pve crowd avoid it entirely?
Population could be low.. for reasons that I'll never understand people don't seem to like PvP π
Ashes of Creation will fail hard.
The game definitely looks interesting, for sure.
Get off the hype train when will you idiots learn.
its a tech demo. i work as a 3d artist ive seen nothing that impressed me after they switched to unreal good for them Animations and Art-style is pretty bad.
Hopefully wpvp in this game doesn't turn out the same way as wpvp in New world. It was great in beta until pve players cried too much and now wpvp basically doesn't exist at all anymore. I NEED a good open world pvp game again!
You don't happen to have a watch channel do you? I won't even consider this until it comes out of alpha. It's pretty enough but the mechanics look like ffxiv/new world and I really don't like that. I'm also not as hyped about the drama as you are. I do applaud that he's got a clear vision of what he wants and where he's going. Best off luck to him.
I'm not sold at all on all the world PvP stuff, the reason I find Ashes somewhat interesting is that I'm so sick of being sold an "MMORPG" by big AAA publishers, and then I play it and I spend 99% of my time doing boring solo content and pretending other players aren't there, and then I look at the roadmap and the hot new patch feature is dungeon bots so you can also solo dungeons. What the heck is going on with this genre? When I buy into an MMO I want the game to be first and foremost about the community, not about the skill-based combat, the story and cutscenes, the mounts, the transmog, the e-sport PvP, the raiders' silly races-to-world-first, or whatever. All that stuff is very cool but it's not reason why people play MMORPGs.
i think i know a mmo thats starts the same way… mmh about over 8 years ago…
but yeah iΒ΄ve AoC on my list too.
I prefer open world pvp myself as opposed to instance based like eso, but it does limit your playerbase pretty heavily.
Even with the restrictions ashes is putting in place, most pve players likely wont see past the "grief and gankfest" that's associated with open world pvp games.
One mistake I hope ashes van avoid tho: Most open pvp mmos are very grindy, beacuse the devs put in these grind spots for mobs, bosses or resources to be fought over, as opposed actual content like caravans and such.
I know we are getting caravans in Ashes, which does give me hope.
To this day my favorite pvp mmo is Age of wulin, which had caravans and a lot of other fun pvp features that no other mmo has picked up on.
1v1 tournaments, class leadership, pvp bosses in dungeons just to name a few.
1:00 WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT? I found it first! I have been following it most! Its my game and my game alone! …AND…everyone is welcome π Hope to see everyone there. PEACE!
I don't mind if INTREPID STUDIOS, over time, turn into BLIZZARD. In fact I hope for it, for in 10 years it will still be. A guy my at its peak ( pertaining to MMORPG's ) never be able too mount the 20 millions plus of subscribers that WOW commanded back in it hey day BUT I bet Ashes of Creation will be THAT game that gives it a good crack. IF so, so help all of our lives FOR time will be of the essence. PEACE
This MMO is surely promising, I just hope that open world thing with PvP won't become a ganking thing with area lockdown by player and becoming a Aion or BDO 2.0
This actually looks good Iβm interested to see how this game unfolds
Welcome once again to aoc
Hope to see more from this game I never heard of it before you brought it to my attention finally something that Rivals ESO so they can see that they're not the only one and maybe you'll force them to make changes or lose their community
Lame, itβs only for PC.
This is fundamentally the foundations that eve online is built upon.
You really never know what is going to happen in the future,
which builds intrigue and interest in itself,
aside from the whole community being involved with completely (re)shaping that future by their own actions.
I prefer to call it a community RTS, as MMORPG has lost any relationship to that concept….if there ever was one.
I think you are saying that there should be a time and a place for everything.
If you are not careful to control/manage those environments however,
you can completely destroy that capability.
The world is big enough for everyone.
I am amazed how many people are hyped about this game and then express hopes that contrast everything Steven said.
Self defined PvP players won't like this game. It will not be a fast paced, skill based combat system for competitive/progression players. Even the Arenas will be different then most people think/hope. Steven wants to bring back the holy trinity, even in PvP. In other words: Intended imbalance (rage quit inc).
How many players would enjoy a 250v250 battle if a well geared/skilled six man group can dominate the whole battlefield like in BDO? My guess is exactly six.
And another thing. Do you think that a solo friendly mmorpg that brings back the group content and social interactions of old is even possible?
In my humble opinion, to bring in the big bucks/greatest crowds nowadays a games content has to be completely soloable, which in turn kills every meaningful social gameplay outside of fashion shows.
Having said that, I predict AoC will crush many dreams and hopes.
My hope for AoC is, that it will be a game, where group play is the best option for MinMaxers and some content is only accessible with a good group, including raidwipes and the frustration when you can't find a healer/tank. I hope army coordination and discipline will be more important than personal skill/gear/level.
I hear a lot of that, when Steven talks about his vision for the game. But…..I'm high on hopium
Will this be on Xbox series X ?
