With the Cleric showcase hopefully days away, I want to dive into what exactly I would like to see from the healing class in Ashes of Creation. Healers play a huge role in MMORPG raiding but aren’t always the most preferred class, and Intrepid could do a thing or two to make people more inclined to jump onto the Cleric

  1. The image is a Ren kai wearing the floria victictus set i reckon, the skins area has a green tinge to it and the armor shade,colour match the gloria victus set. Atleast thats what i think of course it be a cleric most likely too

  2. you kinda need a dps viable spec in some way for healers like WoW shadow priest spec for example so leveling is a slogfest 😛 i do wanna see a melee battle cleric as an option too maybe cleric fighter, melee attacks fuel there heals for example

  4. I don't know if this has been discussed but will the summoner class have an advantage of being able to fill multiple roles? Worried it may end up being very popular even though a summoner "feels" like it should be fairly rare. Same with night-elf druids in WoW.

  5. 2 abilities I want to see for the cleric

    1. A low damage ability that cost no mana to cast and returns a percentage of damage back to the cleric as mana. This would help keep clerics engaged when the party doesn't need healing

    2. And ability that reduces healing but increases dps. This would allow the cleric to do more damage while soloing but wouldn't be used in most group content due to the reduced healing. Pretty sure ff14 has an ability like this for its white mage

  6. What I can see with Clerics is that the Main Archetype could be single target healing but the Secondary, if you specialize in Cleric again would be AOE healing. Or, maybe, the main would have AOE heals, but the secondary would be a major increase on healing for all abilities. There’s a few ways they could go about doing it but I can see them having single target, with tab instead of trying to aim on who gets heals or just having AOE heals instead of single target. Lots of possibilities and the more I think about it, the more my thoughts branch off into other possibilities. Such as mana costs varying for single target heals and AOE/cone heals

  7. Just needs the standard things done well. They have already said the cleric can fight so hopefully that means there's a healing/DPS hybrid build, which is better for levelling/solo then go to full healer build for group gameplay. Would also means it's viable 1v1 also. I believe in archeage it was.

  8. My favorite way to rp a healer is like a DnD style paladin. Take a battle axe or shield and get in the thick of it. I'd like to see an ability that increased your healing potency based on how much damage you take and dish out.

  9. I'm definitely in the minority but I don't like healers having a bunch of dps abilities. I hate games where every class can do everything… I'm fine with enough to get you out of the starting area but then it's time to join a guild and be social. Balancing around group gameplay instead of character vs. Character gives me hope and the main form of progression being open world grinding, I'm hoping no one leaves town with out there cleric!
    I'm an old school L2 player so I'd like to see something similar to a bishop from that scene but this is a new era of gaming where I don't see that being successful.

  10. The bearshaman in Age of conan had some fun healing mechanics in it, i would love to see that in one of the "speccs" for the Cleric. I'm kind of new to this "community" but is cleric the only healingclass available?

  11. I did not know that the cleric was the only healing archetype. But this makes a whole "Necromancers can focus on the healing aspect of their powers" make sense. And since I'll be maining Necromancer, it's nice to know why this will be a part of my kit.
