So what if Ashes of Creation heads down the same path? Will it stay the course or adjust some of its core features to get more players engaged with the world of Verra?

Do you think that the lack of casual features in Ashes of Creation could cause the game, or specific systems within the game to fail and not work as Intrepid hopes for? Comment Below!

I think it's silly to say the younger generation has no attention span. Exactly what MMO has released in their gaming lifetime that has been worth investing time into? I was young and lacked attention before grinding lineage 2 for a decade.
It is failing now? Because Stephen wants to build a MMO w/everything in it and it just keep dragging on and on and will never go gold.
I am afraid that a truncated Alpha 2 with no server resets, followed by two brief betas won't be enough to test the game as a whole, and risks a flaming catastrophe when launch drops a radically different population than test.
I hope that Intrepid can maintain enough good will so that the intended audience will persist through the likely initial shit storm.
I do think the player base exists, but can we last through the massive flood of players that are really looking for something other than Ashes delivers.
I don't think group finder broke the genre. I think the version of group finder that instantly puts you in a group and teleports you to a dungeon is what we don't like. But have a group finder where you post what you're looking for and can go about your business until you get a whisper. You can then discuss what the plans are, group up, and head to the location. I mean what is the alternative? Sitting at the front of a dungeon or in the town nearby spamming chat for a group. I did that. EverQuest, EverQuest 2, lineage, vanilla wow. It wasn't better. It was just all we had. I remember sitting for hours spamming for groups. I was DPS at the time so it took longer. I couldn't leave the city because I'd miss my chance. Not quite ready to go back to that myself. Yea sure you can make friends with the one other dps in your group while you wait for an interested tank to see you chat spams and respond. But it wasn't better. We know ashes will have a billboard system but we don't know its capabilities yet. But you're right. The newer generation who ONLY know group finder won't understand why a modern game is launching without it, and probably won't like it lol.
No idea why people are so against a dungeon finder, seems like a ridiculous thing to argue about. Anyone care to enlighten me?
I think Ashes just needs to find it's groove is all. They want to change a lot but if they find the right audience and are happy with those numbers, everyone wins.
Lets hope it does not meet the same fate as wildstar, I am still really upset how much wasted potential that game had
Everyone and everything fails.
The trick is to 'fail less' each time and more iportantly recognise those failures so they can be remedied.
Otherwise there would be no need for bug fixes and upgrades.
Even the path of evolution and innovation has been one of constant improvement of never ending failure.
Has 'from software' abandoned theor hardcore souls franchise ?
Nope. Its part of their identity. They sell millions as a consequence.
I am looking forward to a game that isn’t spoon fed to players where they need fast traveling or the dungeon openings right in front of them. Stuff that you actually have to work for. Don’t get me wrong, I like a casual game but when it comes to MMOs, working for everything is and should be the reward
Doesn't matter if the game sux…the first 2-3 months will be fun for sure. Maybe the waiting period for the game and chugging the copium is even more fun than the game itself.
Personally don't think a group finder system in a game is a bad thing but rather the elitism that it brings with it. Wow M+ dungeon finder being the main example of having to have done a +10 key to join a +5. It's more on the players themselves than the actual system itself
