☕ Welcome to episode 37 of our Twitch MMORPG podcast called The Trinity MMO Show! As always we go over some of the popular and interesting things that happened within the MMORPG world. But the main topic of discussion is about what we want most in MMORPGs, as well as, whether or not daily login rewards are a good thing or not!

MMORPGs have, in my opinion (Solomon SK), has been pretty slow to evolve, but it’s kind of understandable. Taking risks can mean huge disasters and the amount of MMOs that have gone offline are numerous, even if these games didn’t do anything special and went along with the status quo.

As for the daily login reward discussion – This was brought on from a recent poll that Ashes of Creation did with their fans and supporters. Over 50% did not want daily login rewards. But there’s something I am missing… Do people not like free stuff?

Sorry for a shorter episode today, everyone!, I had to leave for work immediately after the recording and stream, to pull of a 12-hour shift at my work.

Ashes of Creation – https://ashesofcreation.com/mmo

  1. I did a bit of Googling – this was the discussion on the AOC Forums. https://forums.ashesofcreation.com/discussion/48009/dev-discussion-26-login-rewards/p1Basically, the people who don't want it have a kind of anti-Fear of Missing Out perspective. Which is honestly kind of funny because MMORPGs are all about the FOMO.

And on a related note, the Pantheon Developers recently announced that they would not be including Daily Quests in the game –https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gzr5abBu1Ow&t=3s

I am not playing Shadowlands but I've still been following the discussions and a lot of people are asking for some sort of token that can be spent at a vendor because the current system of relying entirely on RNG is basically the one used in Vanilla/early TBC. I think a daily and/or weekly reward system for doing content is a better system because it rewards player for doing the content they want to do without forcing them to do something they don't like.
