We need to TALK about CORRUPTION in Ashes of Creation

Corruption is an important discussion and needs to be talked about as it’s a key system to balancing PvP in Ashes of Creation. I am explaining the current information we have on the corruption system to help you understand how it currently works and giving my opinion on what I think could be changed to make it much more interesting and in-depth, as I’m currently not sure whether there is any point going corrupt in Ashes of Creation other than to exploit certain systems.

  2. Good video! It’s probably not much help but I know Steven mentioned in one of the livestreams about Alt PKing. I don’t remember when or what he said about it but it’s good to know it’s on their radar.

I’ve always been a big fan of prison systems. If you become corrupted, you have players coming after you (including the ones you killed to become corrupted). If a player kills you, you get sent to jail in the node of the person who killed you and you have to work off your debts by mining and other tasks etc. This gives an extra incentive for players to hunt down corrupted players so they can further generate resources for their node.

  3. Nice video. I can definitely see myself going corrupt while griefing an enemy node. Not sure how they can combat it apart from bounty hunters or players going and hunting players like me.

  4. Why is it that no one EVER talks about this: From the Ashes of Creation Wiki: Players are not able to manually set their flagging status to combatant.[112]
Players remain flagged for a period of 90 seconds following their most recent attack on a non-combatant or another combatant.[116]
Players cannot log out while flagged as combatants.[117] You will never understand corruption until you understand how a player gets from "Combatant" to "Non-Combatant".
