No I don't think we need to know all that just know that action was taken so now watch wtf your doing
I think the response was fine. I know people want heads and want every little thing to warrant a permaban. I don't think we need to know what the offenses were based on the punishments, I think that will just give those who exploit a limit as far as how much they can get away with. As a player if you're doing something that doesn't feel like it's part of the normal game loop then it probably isn't.
If they start naming explicitly, then they'll have to start naming all the permutations. It's a slippery slope.
If it's scummy and you value your account, don't do it maybe. No one is going to catch a ban for legit finding a bug or exploit, test it out and reproduce it, and give a bug report. I'd be willing to bet the exploiters never reported. If they did and continue they're just as bad.
They don't owe us a play by play. Just don't be dumb and be respectful.
I haven't see this tackled by anyone , but If for example I use an exploit and I am not banned I know now that I can continue to abuse it and I wont get banned, but a good faith player does not know that since he didnt use it and didnt survive the ban wave. Not setting clear standards and direction puts fairplay players at a bigger disadvantage because they will never know where the line is, but the exploiters will know where it is (specially when you are in guild and you know who got banned and who got warning and who didnt get anything). The response is shit from intrepid not because it didnt go far enough, but because they didnt explain the criteria so everyone can be at least on the same page.
I don't find it weird at all that they don't mention names and/or reasons for banning people and it's honestly not a slippery slope. Why is there a need to know where the line is being drawn between you being a horrible person ingame, or a good person ingame? Shouldn't that be clear already? People that exploit and harass people, obviously know that they are way past that line.
There shouldn't even be a reason for being worried about being banned, as long as you play the game and behave, it's really not rocket science. People are being banned for a reason and just see it as good riddance.
Edit: It's really not that common for studios to actually name the reason for people being banned. It's between the studio <> person and if the person decide to go out with it publicly on why they got banned, thats one thing… But lets be real.. That's not gonna happen 😀
I’d like to know more about the harassment stuff too, but exploiting is exploiting. I don’t really care about that.
scam game
It's self-explanatory TBH.
It might be an unpopular opinion, but I think parsing through logs to actually prove exploit might take time. And I would like them to rather spent their time on the development of the game itself.
I mean you don't have a right to the Game Masters logic, the rules are the rules. Assumably, don't speak like a dickhead or exploit mechanics unfairly, this is non-content.
