What is Ashes of Creation?
Ashes of Creation is a unique take on the MMO experience. Our world structure is dynamic and built to react to the actions of our players. noooo l0ol you wrong on the ppl not killing eachothetr cause theyll care about other ppl bit….. wayyy offf…. theylll get to work on cheats and theyll play the game only to fuck as many ppl as humanly possible over…. and in true reality fashion the devs will profit from this…. they will ban the offender and resell the game to him at the very least if not make and sell the hacks third party as well…. youve heard of "hopeless negativety" well…. there is a such thing as "moronic possitivity" too
the death penalties dont bother me in any way it is one of those the that will have a sustaining effect on economy in reguards to inflation…. its something most games never get right cause the devs always play the federal reserve and print money like there no fuckin tomorrow lol

I agree with every single one of your points except for the cash shop. The reason for that is because as long as there is no p2w and as long as in game achievable items are at least as good looking as cash shop items, then the cash shop will be an awesome piece that will supplement the game's development. They have no box cost after all.

My concerns
Wow players try and make it more pve friendly, I like how transporting goods will be risky. If you hate pvp and need goods transported, well hire mercenaries to help you transport it or get into a big guild that will help you out.
Combat, I hate tab targeting, it's not skillfull just hitting tab and pressing nukes, I personally hope they will make it full action.
And that's it, really looking fwd to this game, can't wait to make my dwarf healer 😀
Global and persistent PvP is a bit of a worry in that I may not always be in the mood for it, it'll take some getting used to…I do think that inside cities should be combat free zones unless a siege is taking place. I would like the ability at least to toggle from purple to green depending on what I'm doing. There are circumstances that I may want to stand and make a fight, and there are circumstances where (like if I'm out gathering) I may want to do nothing and really make the person starting crap think twice about incurring a corruption penalty. Being forced into PvP that you may not want to engage in, with a harsh death penalty on top of it isn't going to be fun for a lot of people though. None of the other things on the list give me too much trepidation. I like the idea that'll be time consuming to level up…getting to top level should actually feel like an achievement. One thing that you didn't list that would probably be at the top of my own would be that guild membership is on a per character and not a per account basis. There will be perks for keeping your guild size under fifty. That would make it very restrictive as far as housing your alts in any one guild much less small one. Especially since large scale sieges will be a thing in this game and you will need all your forces in the field fighting.
depending on how exp debt works I'm fine with it. I always thought City of Heroes had just the right amount of bite to death with its exp debt system where you would earn half exp and half to the debt till you worked it off, this way you never truly stopped leveling but it would definitely handicap you if you died too often (and the debt had a cap)
Edit: I love the durability/material cost to items due to making crafters and resource gatherers matter.

Most of the death penalties are standard fare. I do agree that we don't know enough or how the final tweaks will work. No cash or equipment drops are good but I would like to see no reduction in drop rates or health. A big.one for me are Binding Stone or revive points that are selectable, though it could be used as fast travel if you are willing to dir for the convience. Just make the respawn points as close to the corpses as possible.
This game will bring back the difficulty we need to bring real value to our actions and accomplishments!

Someone literally said this this past week in my raid when this game was brought up. I wish I could have said what you said how you said it.
Last test was fun, cant wait for A2.
5) PvP server is a non-issue, they are PvX. 4) Why do you need to go from lvl.1 to lvl.MAX at all? (other than to stroke your ego) There is so much to do in this game that does not require a high level character. 3) Exclusive content – again only needed to stroke your ego. 2) Death consequence – See #5 it is a PvX server. 1) No Pay to Win – this is a non-issue. Again go stroke your ego in the cosmetic shop. So in closing, if you need a game to "Stroke your Ego", Ashes of Creation may not be the game for you.
I def dont like the penalties of dying.

I think you nailed it. I am not sure this game is really designed from the ground up to appeal to the masses, at least not the FFXIV/WOW masses. They sure are trying to market to the big WOW streamers though, and I wonder if that will be a mistake when they finally realize how different this game is.
Very informative, interesting how they’re dealing with the pvp vs pve, I’m sure they’ll have a lot to tweak in alpha 2.

i hate how people are always racing to hit max. I wish people would just take their time and enjoy the world.
I feel so many different types of way about the cash shop. There are tons of ways you can do cash shops without ruining a game but the biggest to me is making sure the cash shop items don’t outshine the hard to obtain items that people really have to grind for. If you can maintain a healthy desire for in game badassery status items, excluding the legendary items that only .01% (which of course should be an orgasm for the eyes) of the population will obtain, then I would say a large majority of us will be fine with it.
Hey about cosmetics, i heard that they will be achivable in ingame, and ig you cant get em cause some of them will be rare, then you can buy it :), but after all they will be acivable from loot bosses achievements and etc 🙂 .
My biggest concern is lack of fast travel. I know the good reasons why, but it does not stop me from worrying it will be a walk from hell game.
