  1. You can call me a boomer but the cash shop crap, the rushed pre patch and launch honestly bug me to the point that I dont think I'm even gonna play at launch.

I'm sure I'm the rare case but this company has managed to hype me up for a 15 year old game and cause me to not even want to play it all within a month

  2. $35 for copy is making it so I won't even purchase 1 copy. I wanted to save my rogue with death sting, kiss of the spider, and naxx/T3 armor, but now… I guess it will just go in my bank in tbc and I will keep my $35.
I will pay and use the boost gladly, maybe even buy the pack that includes a boost since with the 30 day game time and the mounts I can at least justify it.

  3. Zirene mentioned that he would be upset if his landlord only gave him 30 days notice on something like a time to move out similar to blizzard giving less than 30 days notice for pre patch/tbc, if they were your landlord and you paid monthly rent it would be illegal in the US to give you less than 30 days notice. law student can confirm this timing is outrageous. love your stuff snomie. Also I would argue that the 35 character copy is borderline price gouging. Blizzard really doesn't care all that much anymore its sad.

  4. I would loved to see 4 weeks for the prepatch. The average time players could play is 3-4 hours a day. The average time it would take to level to 60 in the 2 weeks time on a belf or space goat is 7.5-8.5 hours a day. By having this so sort people will end up just buying gold and paying for mage boosting to try and make it in time. In all honesty with a 2 week prepatch they should have made the dark portal pass work for Belfs and space goats

  5. I don't mind the short pre-patch at all. It doesn't need to be tested or solved. If your spec isn't optimal for 2 weeks but you're having fun, great! There's fun in the ephemeral.

  6. I cannot stand Zirene. He "always" has to be right. Guy literally guessed the complete opposite last week and than says he predicted TBC release date. BRUHH HJUST BE A NORMAL PERSON.

  7. u guys completely misunderstood what "played in 30% of games the previous week" meant. points go out after the weekly reset at the start of the new week. you just had to play 30% of the games before the reset, which IS the previous week, before those points go out at the start of the new week. not two weeks worth of games

    Reply
  8. You completely misread the blizzard patch notes about "previous week" previous week is in relation to the week that you get points. So the requirements are 10 games minimum AND 30% the games AND within 100 points.

  9. Giving your girlfriend less than 30 days notice to spend time gaming is kind of a weird argument and doesn't really speak for the quality of your relationship if that is a huge problem. Just saying.

A lot of companies have financial quarters that don't align with the normal year. Most SaaS companies have Feb -> May -> September -> Feb to take advantage or 2 year-ends. The calendar for most purchasing companies and the financial year for the selling company.

The 35$ are clearly Blizzard's attempt to prevent as many people as possible from playing Classic Era Servers, there is no upside for them in having those servers so they said "If you pay us enough we will do it.". Its their attempt to create enough value on their end to justify the costs. Classic Era servers will die down to 1-2 servers max which creates a justifiable cost. If it would have been for free everyone would have cloned and they would have needed to maintain a significantly higher number of servers. It's really not that hard to see and understand. You are not being gatekept from your Character. You are gatekept from your Character at a specific point in time at a specific stage of the game. It never existed before, no one cared before. Those that care want to play classic vanilla and for that fresh servers would have much more value.

Toys did exist in TBC via the trading card game.

  10. The worse thing about the paid for mount, is that all the data mining states that the mount is 100% speed even at level 30… so much for Blizzard saying people will never be able to pay for an in game advantage.

With Nightbane – this boss was never intended to be killed the first time you enter Karazhan. He was intended to be tackled after you had geared up a bit and was ready to start moving into tier 5, which is why he was intended to be a lot more difficult than the rest of Karazhan.

  11. On Nightbane… Uhhh obviously a Paladin with Righteous Fury healing would be best? If the breath is physical damage anyway, get your prot pally to consecrate for the skeletons and they can hold threat on the skeletons and Nightbane with healing threat?
Edit: Yea you mentioned it second time you talk about Nightbane.

  12. I dont quite understand the "long pre patch will lead to burnout"

Y'all realize that with the exception of 2 expansions every pre patch has lasted 4 weeks or more?

Obviously in the end the short pre patch isnt that big deal it's just another addition to the questionable list of things blizzard has done recently.

Also if those prices dont alarm you I dont know what will. Like I said in my other comment blizzard has managed to completely kill my desire to play this game all within a month.

  13. "[Rogues are] still losing combo point when we focus blind or focus kick somebody."

TL;DR – This could just be a nerf, and Rogues probably need one in PvP. I think that's a good thing. Here's why:

I don't view this as a bug. I see this as a sneaky PvP nerf. And if anyone's gonna come up and try to say "Rogues are perfectly balanced in PvP and a nerf is out of line," you are dead-ass wrong. Maybe it feels bad to play with, but Rogues are already the single most dominant class in PvP for most, if not all of TBC for a plethora of reasons (massive control AND burst, a CC-type that no class or race has abilities to react to which is also on a shorter CD than PvP trinket… the list goes on). Counter-play in PvP is important, especially in TBC, where Arenas are generally a bit slower and more chess-like than in later expansions. There isn't really any counter-play to a lot of what Rogues can do, unless you're a psychic and can Shout or Dispel them out of stealth consistently. A good Rogue's only negative match-up is a better Rogue. But then who counters that dude? Who watches the Watchmen, so to speak.

Even back in the day, we saw Rogues dominate the later seasons, and that was when we had no idea what we were doing. Private servers have proven the Rogue's effectiveness throughout TBC start to finish, and a lot of people are gonna PvP on Rogues specifically because they're that good. This starts a feedback loop, where the best players play the best class so they can be the best, and we end up seeing like 30%+ of all Gladiator titles in the hands of one class. If you ask me, that's just as bad as seeing a Naxx speed run with nothing but Warriors in it. Class diversity at high level play is good and healthy for a game. If it gets bad enough, it could even lead to the high-level meta being reduced to "Be a Rogue, or be able to deal with a Rogue." Rogues being as powerful as they are, with the skill level and experience of players nowadays is gonna lead to a very skewed and more rigidly defined PvP meta, and that's not as fun for the overall player base as a wider spread of classes all being able to shine.

And I think I speak for every non-Rogue when I say they're not very fun to play against. Challenging, sure, and that's engaging in itself, but not exactly "fun." Their sheer control can feel oppressive, they get to be invisible, they're super slippery, it's all very frustrating to handle. Too many of that kind of class on the other side of the Arena, and some people will stop playing Arena, cuz it just sucks to deal with all the time. "Too many Rogues on, I'll just get my 10 and be done."

And now that I've pissed off every Yellow Fellow out there, I want to reassure the rest of you that I actually really enjoy playing a Rogue. I mained one back in TBC, and I intend to have one as an alt so I can screw around in Arenas, cuz let's face it: Rogues are fun as hell to play. You feel like a tricky mastermind pulling all the strings, and it's great; the class fantasy is pretty much perfect. But that doesn't mean I can't see where they need to be toned down. I worry for the diversity of the Arena meta if Rogues are left to run rampant, as I expect they will. Taking the nerf bat to one class to preserve the fun and viability of eight others is just good math, if you ask me.

Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

  14. This shows you how closed your community really is, there is the majority of the Player base that feels why do you need a pre patch this is a 15 year old game Back in original Tbc Classes and specs were changed many times before the first major patch, there is bo difference in PREPATCH tti launch, you want a PREPATCH then dont level and have a longer 60 experience… this Is a community problem not a wow problem no one said toy have to Speed level to70 on launch that is a player's choice

  15. I think they had so much to fix in beta they didn't get to address pre-patch. I'm expecting big fixes on the fly but really just a shit show for small issues until TBC release.

  16. Again with the PVP another thing where your community does not understand the issue with the system the issue is it the rating it's the fact that they started 0 and have required pieces for everything except 2 For example we will use myself I'm a feral Druid Not a Meta class my shoulders for s1 and 2 are competitive if not better than available in that content and now I have to actually try for good pve gear prolly not obtainable and not only that say I give up on getting shoulders and decide to get non rated required gear then I cannot just play 10 games and not care about rating and still get points as you won't get 400 points at 0 rank

  17. Really liked the content on the tougher boss fights and thoughts on tanking. I am going to be stepping into a tank role TBC and trying to get as much info as I can, especially since there is such a big shift with pally entering into the ring.
