  1. I think a lot of it comes down to content density and diversity of leveling options. If the world is large but there's only Carphin or Citadel of Steel Bloom, then the world will feel empty when traveling and crowded when trying to grind. Same with gathering. I'm curious how to player shops will interact with artisanship. Will certain players give up on artisanship in leu of just buying the gear they want from a player shop? I'm looking forward to Intrepid adding more content density to fuel the squirrel brain. Great Video as always!

  2. i hope they dont plan on start the game same as it was first week with servers being aweful now that they are kinda stable and pop was ok for the map we had now they wanna load it up and screw servers again? Xd server stability is over it was phase 1 not phase 2 to test it again

  3. Steven did say in a recent interview that if the architecture allows for it, they aim for 18-20k per servers. Given there is to be 105 nodes, on average a node should have 195-200 players on it (compared to the actual 750). Now, we know that nodes are not all equals. Some evolve to be bigger and more central then others. Some might stay completely wild and untamed, while ocean might have a low global population with peaks at specific points.

    So, metropolis might have for example 6x (~1200) the expected population passing by or living there, while stage 1 node might have 0.25 to 0.5 the average (50 to 100) and as they grow and grab some interested population until they can overturn a near lvl 4 node.

    The best case scenario is a bell shaped curve based on the level of the node and the worst one a sharp spike in metropolis and castles and a steep descent the further you are. Creating stagnation in the world and a truly empty 80% world.

    If the servers allow for it, they should aim for around 80k (3k on 4 nodes ~= 75k on 100 nodes) players so we get a bit higher initial population ratio then our current peak.

    Hopefully this makes sense and is not terribly wrong 🙂

  4. The numbers on Vyra have definitely dropped after they announced the wipe, and its been less and less each weekend since. Expecting a blood bath this weekend tho haha.

    As for what content I like from you, Ashes news & then just moments you enjoy, doing what you want to do. People doing what they love comes across in content in my eyes.

  5. I'm in oceania. I'll prob play healer or support if group exp is the way to go. Interested in pve and pvp but will prob play something to sway a big team battle. Not interested in weird drama servers filled with toxic people. is there a server that suits me.

  6. The world is incredibly boring as well as the open world dungeons, and the graphics are bad. I'm not sure how they will improve this going forward, though I hope it's a success.

  7. Hi, Computer Science guy here, Concurrent means the average of "online players", that's a theoretical they are "hoping" for as a marketing portion, per server. The servers in theory – if the Holy Grail Server Mesh works – is for 50K accounts per server, thus the 50K registered users. And that was the original numbers, who knows how much they aim for.

    Given the size of the map and comparison to other games, 10K "server pop limit" as many players in the community hope for, means there won't be a full raid in some zones, not even a party to begin with in certain POI. The map to sustain a healthy player density and such, would need at least 35K players to play on ONE of the continents.

    I won't even get into how BARREN the open sea will be with a player density of 10K. Those pirate ships might as well roleplay as pirates cause they won't be hitting a galley any time ever.

    So yeah, they need to pump up the numbers.

  8. I believe they are testing the network and server limits in this early phases. So on launch there will be room for connection peaks like holidays and server prime time. Even if P3 game should feel more like finished product so no limit testing there.
