I'm not saying the Desert is in terrible shape like the other guy said, but do you honestly think it is as far along as Intrepid claims?
All they need to do is "flip a switch" and all their beautifully rendered desert previews could go live in a few weeks exactly like they showed us?
no words have ever been more true… There's two sides to every story.
yet I'm left feeling some stories, although they are sometimes told by friends, are no more true.
we must look at things objectively, find hard undisputable facts, and draw our own conclusions.
instead of relying on the clouded, perhaps bias, conclusions of others.
everyone wants to be the victim
The response from the leadership at AoC has been incredibly disappointing. They built up expectations so high and then get upset when people expect what you promised. I still hope the game can be good, but the fact that A2 is now nothing but exploits and mega guilds doesn't bode well. In a tiny amount of time we've seen the number of testers go from thousands to hundreds, and a decent chunk of them are the exploiters and mega-guild hanger-ons. It's rough.
Only thing I got from all this drama is the game is a minimum of 3 years from release.
And the current crop of MMORPGs are honestly not worth playing.
I sort of like GW2, but it is ultimately a themepark MMORPG. I'm tired of that type of gameplay 😞
This game is well over 2 years away from being finished, if it ever will be. Way too early to be playing in this state. But they needed money and here we are.

I am disappointed with the lack of progress they made compared to the demos they showed off. I never would have bought into the Alpha at the current state of the game and feel duped by Intrepid.
The dessert was only ONE of the game assets that Narc complained about, so even if you refute the dessert claim you still haven't addressed Narc's concerns. And the biggest bone of contention is how Sharif handles criticism. Sharif doesn't say Narc doesn't understand Development or business practices, Sharif doesn't say 'Narc disagrees and disagreement is okay'. Sharif tries to dismiss and undermine Narc by saying it's a "mental health" issue.

Narc is right.
Steven is a scammer.
He lied about the state of the game for years.
Even if the assets ARE in game, those high fidelity showcases do NOT reflect what they look like in game. They are visually degraded, and Intrepid should probably stop the high fidelity showcases and only show these assets as they appear on LIVE SERVERS on normal gaming rigs so player expectation matches reality.
Imagine getting people to pay money to you to shipl your 10 year + unfinished project lol. People are so brainwashed
Current stage of development does not equal current stage of testing. I feel this is where people keep screwing up. These are, in all likelihood, very very different builds. At least, that's my two cents.
In my opinion this doesnt look much better than GW2 , but that is just my opinion , i understand the game isnt finished but so far from what i see not that great
Test environments are just one step up from graybox. You cannot put in high poly textures into a testing realm, as it could do what New World did and fry gpus. It's a blank slate to test code. If you throw everything done into the test you'll never figure out what code is causing a bug
You paid to be employed by them, you were duped before the login screen boys. You are not paying for a game.
I'm so sick of people REACHING to defend this garbage. This shit looks 1000x worse in unreal5 than the supposed unreal4 over 2 years ago. It was 100% a demo meant to trick people into buying this scam.
Yeah they lied. Fake showcases, claiming it was in the game already. I hope the game succeeds, but call a spade a spade
Yeah wait. Wait. Hold on…Narc purposefully went to the edges of the map for his video to make people think that what we were seeing was the WHOLE thing!? Bro that is…that's scummy. I know development of MMOs take a LONG time, some of the best MMOs have taken 10+ years to develop and developers haven't let us know about it until the VERY end. We are seeing Ashes from it's raw state, going along with it and experiencing what development looks like. OF COURSE THERE'S GOING TO BE NOTHING AT THE EDGE OF THE MAP??? YOU'RE IN AN ALPHA!? Like…I know this game is still perhaps years away from releasing. 4-5 or however more it takes. But I truly do believe it will be completed one day and that it will be glorious. I just can't believe Narc purposefully did that.
Only Ashes will stay
I will say this has someone that follows the development dispite not going to touch it, 8y of development and they barely have anything to show for, its shameful and it can place almost in scam, they do lack tons of transparency when they communicating, steven needs to start thinking before talking cause he delivers way too much promises that he wont keep, the game its just a mess, basic system that dont work well, combat is dull, i mean this alpha was more to take people money then showing improvement, i do understand its and alpha but this is not a definition of a true alpha, narc could have phrase some stuff differently but end of the day he speak truthfully about the state of the game, Steven needs to reavaluate the project cause if he keeps going the project wont be finished not in 10 years, means more money will be invested stupiditly cause someone cant put the foot in the brake and think do i really need to hv this day 1 of release.
