  1. I am still holding out hope that A2s will get to spot test before official launch of A2. That would help me resist the temptation to nolife the test at launch and consequently quickly suffer burnout. If I can manage to casual the launch, I feel that I would remain more consistent with my participation.

  2. I tend to question if I will enjoy a testing phase of a game with lots of bugs, then i remember that I played cyberpunk on ps4 on release day through ps4 share play. The only thing that gets me is not being able to to play the game with que times and stuff.

  3. I'm assuming most followers of an Ashes specific channel like this know exactly what to expect. It's more the fans of larger content creators like Asmondgold who will be crying about the state of the game.

As far as retention of players it's 100% going to drop off fast. Personally I plan on testing/playing a ton at the launch of A2. I highly doubt I'll be logged in 20+ hours a week consistently for over a year to a broken buggy game though. I'll most likely be playing something else as a main game and testing/playing Ashes a few hours a week or a bit more after an update.

  4. I’d say that the sheer cost required to gain access to the alpha 2 probably “weeded” out the average and casual MMO gamers. Seems to me that most key holders are in it for the long haul and ready to no life for as long as this thing takes, and that’s regardless if it’s great from day one or not. I do however feel retention amongst non-ashes exclusive streamers will mean they bounce in and out of the game between content release’s

  5. Some bugs are hilarious so I don't mind them unless the game is just riddled with them and unplayable. But the game already looks good enough to know I would probably enjoy it so every update is just a plus for me at this point.

  6. I had anticipated helping with testing, even though the cost of entry was high. I have… used to have a lot of time, unfortunately my elderly parents were in a car crash 2 years ago, and I've been caring for them most of the time. My PC lives about 150miles away, it is its home now.

I'll just have to live vicariously through your channel (and a few others).

  7. I played ESO and New World for years, but never enjoyed them more than as a low level during beta and release. While others were complaining about bugs I was experiencing wonderful and exciting "new worlds" and having the time of my life.
In AoC A2 I will try to focus on the features Intrepid ask us to exercise, but my hope is that this game quickly blossoms into the community we are all hoping for.

  8. Almost 10 yrs in development, it's changed about 3 times already, seems the Devs keep leaving high pitched voice Steven, he has already been monetizing the game for cosmetics the whole time. Did they actually say when "THEIR" third quarter is? If it launches by 2026 I will be surprised. He is a MLM guy that is hoping for hype and 15 sec clips will drive the demand @ $15 a month to play. All based on a Single Daily action of a Caravan something or other. Right.

  9. feels like the game is 10 years away, if they dont even have the basic class kit done, sounds even delusional to think that alpha 2 will be only 2 years if there arent even basic classes done in 8 years

  10. If you come into this test, understanding what is being tested and that it is only a test, yes it will be fun. If you come into this test expecting this to be "The Game", you should really not be in the test.

  11. While it won't be present off the hop, the Rogue footage did look cool. Not being able to play it will at least let me try something different AND also get used to the existing systems.
