  1. I was really worried when you started saying HP regeneration (sitting) takes a 'while', then mentioned it's a minute or so… EQ1 player here in 1999, regeneration while sitting was 10 minutes+. 🙂

  2. I said it once, I'll say it a million times, Arche Age Combat… as you level up higher and higher you'll need more and more people in your group. This is a Group Combat Game. If you don't want to join a guild, if you don't want to find people to party up with, you're going to have shit game time.

  3. The introvert in me is both excited and terrified that im going to have to find and trust a group to properly play the game lol. Cant wait for the summoner class, hope it gives a slightly larger window for low tier solo gameplay

  4. The weapon model switching seems very weird. I highly doubt that with all the identity and class design like that they would let the entire system fall flat like that visually.
Most likely a placeholder or something.
Side question, if you have a different Sword equipped with a different model, does it still revert to the "base" model for the ability? Or does it use the model of the new sword?

  5. This all sounds great. Making health not instantly regen is how it should be. Finally anither game where you needs others a true MMO. I also think there should be an element of grinding needed to level. They make all these amazing beautiful vistas and zones and most games you just blow thru them on the main story quest. Spending levels in a zone cause it’s your level range is a must. Can’t hardly wait.

  6. Awesome video. Really good points. Caught a lot that I never figured out. I do think ranger is in a better place but it still needs some love because yes the bard is better at everything than everyone.

  7. Thanks for the information. I'll be subbing to follow along. One thing that stood out to me with combat that you talked about was Using a spear, but skills will visually switch to greatsword as if you're using one. This seems really awkward to me and I would hope that skill animations are eventually unique to the weapon type that you are using, and if you are wielding a bow, you shouldn't be able to use melee skills. I'm assuming this is because of lack of animations built, but melee skills should require a melee weapon.

  8. not sure if i like every class having two weapons. Sounds good but it quickly just ends up being a thing where you just use one weapon and the other is just for stat purposes that you never actually use

  9. It made me chuckle when you compared the regeneration to WoW, because waiting for HP between packs of mobs was exactly the same as it used to be in WoW, before blizzard gutted the game 🙁 Good ol' times

  10. The solo content got me worried. I reckon a lot of players are 30 years + looking to scratch this MMO itch. Those people dont play a whole lot with friends. Either they stopped playing videogames all together or have limited time. They need to invest into solo play for Ashes to succeed imo.

  11. As solo people continue to get into Alpha 2, they will most likely scale down the combat difficulty. I doubt they'll fully alienate solo players from the game. If they do, they're going to have a much more niche playerbase with a ton of competition on the market. I've already got Throne and Liberty, which does a great job of marrying PvE and PvP content. If Ashes can't find that balance, I don't see the game being as successful as it could be.
