  1. Your wrong, this PvP system is not new to MMO…. this is the exact system that Lineage 2 use it, and it was one of the best. Same goes with the caravan system, is the idea from Silkroad and if you look it up a bit you will see that is almost the same system. Is not a bad idea to take this system that you liked from other MMO's and integrate them in your game. And again MMO are not games made for everyone… I you don't like PvP you find a game like WoW join an PvE only servers or play solo games. But if your a PvP enjoyer this system it will be awesome.

  2. I anticipate a lot of it just being pulled out of the game. It is simply too easy for players to figure out ways to abuse systems like this. If all Ashes dev is just squashing ways players abuse these systems then we wont get much in the way of anything else. Also think of a situation of a hacked account just going on a killing spree and the player being put in deep corruption. If Ashes believes it was hacked and erases it then eventually someone will figure out how to get away with going on a killing spree and claiming "my account was hacked" to get it reversed.

  3. aside of, it is a good content, I always struggle to understand making the comments about systems that we know, and we were inform are not there yet. This said, I do emphasize with all your doubts on the system. But I know changes are coming, some were planned initially for phase 2. So until then I was not even considering any issue with PVP to be an actual issue for the moment. Due to Asmongold drama part of it will be earlier, and that is this weekend, so we can slowly start evaluating if they are going in the good direction.

    I always loved the thrill of adventuring with PVP always on, like you always have to plan the travels accordingly, gather enough fire power to overcome any adversaries etc.

    With that said, Intrepid may mess up in so many ways, that even though I enjoy this stage of game very much, I am still worried stuff can go wrong before it will be actually released.

  4. It won't be the last mmo ever lmao, even BDO still has an "active" PvP community, you can run a profitable MMO with a playerbase of 20k so they will never stop popping up for the people addicted to WoW but unwilling to play it.

  5. whats stopping someone from killing low levels, getting corruption, then having a friend kill them to take their gear, remove their corruption then just give the gear back? then rinse and repeat.. the friend wouldnt even get corruption cause hes killing a corrupted player right?

  6. No game has been able to fully remove loop holes when they have this kind of system. It's always doomed to failure. So they get to create a niche game and expect a small niche audience. The devs and moderators of the game will eventually figure out they are spending too many hours resolving issues from this system they will eventually start cutting it, or going to so many extreme with game mechanics players will just be begging for them to put in an opt out system. To act like they going against the last 30ish years of mmo pvp development and reinvent the wheel is laughable. This stuff has been tried so often and it always ends the same

  7. Keep in mind that there are a bunch of pvp systems that are just not in the game yet, so the harsh corruption is just place holder at the moment. There will be things like bounty hunter system etc to counter griefers… but the reality is we don't know exactly how pvp will function when all the systems will be added.

  8. Honestly if AoC fails it might be the last non-consensual PVP MMORPG we will ever get. Koreans have already moved on from that concept pretty heavily, and looks like most of the new MMORPGs will be heavily PVE focused, with some PVP on the side.

  9. lineage 2 years ago had this exact thing where if you killed players you would get bad karma and the higher your karma gets the redder your name became and attacking you wouldnt give karma to anyone and the redder you were basically the more chance you had to drop loot or your gear. there was also a counterpart where if you did good people could give you a thumbs up basically that would boost your karma and make your name greener.

  10. as others have said mmorpg that forces or try to focus on pvp element usually fail because mmorpg is a more casual game that most player base like to focus on pve elements pvp is a niche thing in mmorpg i cant even recall the last mmorpg that did well and is still doing well to this day with this philosophy in mind if anyone has some let me know.

  11. Gotta love the dork videos of people complaining about the game on a public forum when everyone knows the game is in Alpha….Alpha brah! They said before they even started Alpha that they didn't have the entire PvP system implemented. Yet dorks like you are crying on YouTubes and trying to act like this is how the game will be a year from now….yeah, the game has a LOOOONG time until release still and dorks like you are part of the problem these days.

    How about you and all the other dorks crying on YouTubes just stop playing the Alpha, it's obvious that you aren't ready to play test a game. Wait for Beta maybe?
