This game is feeling more and more like FFXI and I love it! Not the combat obviously but, the gameplay and punishment for death to give you that true feel of risk and reward.
Fighters need mana cause how else are you suppose to swing a 200 lb sword hard enough to match a wizards lightning bolt? It actually makes a lot more sense that a martial would channel mana to increase their physical capabilities.
Movement so far is pretty good. There's a bit of skill expression, like Fighters needing to gauge when to use their dashes, Rangers being careful with their leaps, Bards positioning with their dashes, stamina management with sprinting and dodge rolls… Mage blink is supposed to be a static directional movement, but currently can be manipulated to extend its dustance via bunny hops. (Personally I hope this bug gets worked in as a feature, I mainly played mage and it was super fun to curve around mobs to set up an aoe chain.)
Seems like ressurection works like it did in Everquest 1, basicly there were npc basicly in every city that u can ask to bind ur soul and that will become the ressurection point for u (completly naked too) so you wanna bind urself to closest town to where u were sometime u would forget and that was fun 😛
however there was a utility spell that everquest had to that most spell caster had access to which could work realy well in AoC on probaly for the summoner class makes the most sense since it be like summoning your soul back to x spot. it was bind effinity would allowed players to bind rezz spots to spots where these npc were absent so basicly had the spell the npc had and u could use it on urself or party members.
I don't like fast earning of mounts really. I'd like it at least to take 10 hours or so before you get a mount. It feels HUGE to get a mount in classic wow. I'd like that. I want it to be a part of my progression. Like lvl 10 mount would be good if that takes around 10 hours or so. It'd feel like a bug milestone as you go into the slower lvling.

Mana on spell casters = ability to use mana excternally say fireballs/healing
Reason mana on everyone is when secondary's come into place like what happens with a fighter if they use a rage bar and there secondary mage, do they use rage for spell casting or do they now get a mana bar aswell to use the mage element of their kit its gets congaluted
Anime often uses this method to explain why martial people are str is obscene they enhance there body via magic
I used to think the same thing about action mode, but now im hooked. It is so much better, especially when you can just attack with mouse click and have all your fingers for movement.

The reason all classes use mana is for bard to stay relevant I guess
Pretending that basic attacks are not skill-based is odd. Basic attack weaving exists in almost every tab target game that is on the market.

Ammunition and fletching are good game design.
Glad to hear the game will be a grind and not hit max lvl in 2 days.
Planning for a support class for Ashes. Was a Bard in EQ, Priest/Sham in WoW/ Whitemage/Bard Ff14. Must have the power of death in my grasp
