This is a personal taste. I would love for a game to be a little bit darker and serious in tone.
Currently its all sunny, everything is bioluminescent and saturated with color. I need storms, dark clouds, discusting creatures, rain, thunder, armor sets (helmets) that are bit more based on reality. A would like a bit of testosterone in my game. Thanks.

Might want to re-examine the logic of this video. Because the ideas that you present here are the very criticisms leveled against Original WOW and BC and they are what lead to the "A Cookie for Everyone" design philosophy for which Retail WOW is so reviled. The fact that "Everyone is the Chosen One" is what Original WOW was criticised for, and was used as the basis of marketing campaigns to sell other MMORPG's like "Age of Conan" online which promised the player "a personal story" unlike WOW where everyone is the Chosen One. the ideas you present in this video are the reason Blizzard introduced "PHASING" into WOW.
So, you should hope that Intrepid doesn't listen to you because if they do "it'll be like de'ja vu all over again".
Let me clarify how it leads to the "a Cookie for everyone" design philosophy. Because these criticisms are just jealousy. like a woman that can't stand seeing someone else in the same dress. there's no way to satisfy this complaint and because on its face it's an unreasonable criticism it will lead to them having no choice but to shove a pacifier in your mouth. As long as they can prolong that feeling of player being a random shmuck, game will be good. If they manage to do that through out several expansions-Even better.

I 100% hope AoC brings back the feelings I had when playing Ultima Online. So much so, I have been wracking my brain to try and remember the old guild name and player names to reach out to and see if they are keen to do it all again in AoC.
Idc what anyone says, osrs is the best game ive ever played. it was so unserious, so fun, do anything, it just had everything fun.
In regards to D&D Online it was a lot better on release, it's changed soo much from then.

I love DDO ,,, been playing it on and off since 2008 and still play some to this day ,,, I would say monk is a rough class in the game maybe you should try a different class lol …
D&D in an mmo… a real game that requires you to think…?
7:00 IF they are gonna make us the leaders or experts – we have to be one of many, not THE champion of the world. you can be a Captain of a battalion – one of like 80 battalions of a countrys army. because they are SENT to places to take on missions. they're not the kings and queens or generals of nations.
I hope that the base game will have class quests that teach you among other tings the utility your class brings and exploration choices. and content updates include those things as well.
If this is anything like Wow. I won't play it.
I hope they have AI that is smart and will have ability's that make the HP pool not what you are fighting.. but i doubt that will be the case.. The easy road is to just stick a fat hp pool and let it just sit there and get hit for A Nice long Time to kill.. So far there has only been one mmo that pulled off the AI vs HP pool and that was a very underrated game called Horizons. Unfortunately it was not funded well and not enough advertisement. but the game had very good ai. all games these days pve wise is all about how fast you can burn down a 1.21 jiga watt life pool.. Whats a jiga Watt?? NM back to the future ref there lol.
i can't say I disagree with your points. I will say i dont see any of that happening like that.. This is after all a pvp first game with pve second. Thinking of balance i dont see how they will allow those utility skills to play as big of a roll as you are asking for.

It will take a lot of effort and skill on the part of the devs to make those support systems viable. You want to engage the player without overwhelming them. The majority of players aren’t looking to min/max, just to get shit done. And the players will always be looking for hacks and oversights to make things “easier.” Then the “easy” way becomes the norm and the systems stagnate. I have high hopes that Ashes can accomplish this, but it is no easy feat. I too long for the 2004 adventurer vibes.
