  1. This was my first MMO experience also, playing KalOnline. Around 2008 onwards MMOs became this railroaded / isolated / time-gated experience that encouraged people to pinch off into static groups playing with the same 4/5 dudes to efficiently complete all the content as soon as possible. Pugging just became progressively worse and worse.
    I played games to escape that cliquey bullshit from highschool only to find myself again stuck at the bottom of the pile because I refused to play in a static and tanked my own progression as a result.
