I am a big fan of Ashes of Creation, obviously. But that does not mean I canāt see potential issues that COULD arise to derail the project. I was able to come up with 14 reasons Ashes could end up failing. Thanks for watching!

First, Appreciate the effort that keeps this content coming!
you really are trying to feed the trolls!!
Didn't he already talk about how server merges were going to work?
Thatās me!! Although Iām a bit sweaty I do still consider myself āaverageā.
Iām disappointed that you only focused on those horns..
Nyce!
I've always said that the corruption system is my biggest worry.
I have come to the conclusion that, for me at least, the entertainment value of AoC is not in the prospect of the eventual (allegedly) finished game, but rather in the journey itself. Watching AoC grow is a long term pastime that has lasted longer than my interest in ANY MMORPG that I have played in the last 25 years. I enjoy the development process and watching the Steven Sharif Show every month is something I look forward to and that always generates a visceral reaction, positive, negative, or somewhere in between. When AoC launches that pastime comes to an end and with that end comes the death of all anticipation, speculation, and imaginings.
pax dei got a very long way to go before they can release it Xd
We just need to get in there and test it. Loved the make it wow again spot…i rolled.
I think the Corruption System is fine just as it is. Every player has complete control over weather they want to be corrupt or not. The penalty for becoming corrupt will not be fun. Steven has said: : PK'ers and Griefers will NOT ruin this game that I am creating. People will be watching and sliders (corruption penalty) will be adjusted". Players will find loop-holes and cheats, that is what the Alpha-2 test is for, so the loop-holes and cheats can be discovered and corrected.
I've been working on a similar video, and I actually have several things on my list, that aren't on yours. The list of things that could derail this game is pretty long.
The best thing about "Loop Holes" in AoC is active GMs. The "Intent" of the game is key, if players are finding ways to "Work Around" the game (and Steven's) Intent, you can expect penalties. Do not underestimate how many things an Active GM will be able to deal with. The system flagging players (even if it's just from other player reports) for observation and players who continue to "work around" game systems are going to be in for a big surprise. I hope like South Korea, Intrepid Studios requires significant identification to be linked to your account details. Banning someone should have serious effects, not just make another email account and you're back. The low barrier to entry could become a problem for cheaters and bots, but linking real world id to an account fixes it.
It will fail when the people awaiting this game die of old age before it releases
Never coming out
Ashes of Creation's business model revolves around perpetually being in (alpha/beta)
Can we ever just enjoy the ride, why do we have to do this all the time. Hate this and how people love the crap on everything. Iām moving on the someone else.
I just don't see any new MMO seeing major success at this point. The novelty of online play is what made MMOs so appealing prior, which is now a standard feature in most games.
Big ass horns! LoL
At this point I say forget the feedback and make the game you want to make. Need to give some creators some space to achieve their vision. Sure, I would be happy to recommend stuff way later but the developers have to be able to create their own game first or it won't be any good IMO.
I think that you've missed one of the greatest reasons of failure of mmos like archeage, which is just insane company greed, bringing insane P2W into the game.
Pax Dei combat looks just as boring as Ashes though.
