Discussing the biggest problem in Ashes of Creation which is keeping casual and less socially invested players interested in the outcomes of the world. The average player is going to be relatively low impact and isn’t going to be a part of the major movers and shakers of the world. Why should they care if Guild A owns a node over Guild B?

  1. Spot on. You mentioned it in your gen-z vid…mmo players are aging and have less time. 45 days 6hrs per day to reach max level? I hope the game is fun and rewarding out the gate and the focus is broader than endgame or i dont see a lot of players making it to endgame.

  2. first game with real griefing system, idk if you gonna risk your items,xp and other penality for do that!bcs lvling also not be easy they said already 6 hours if you play daily you need between 35-40 days to push max lvl, also there will be small % of idiots who gonna do that, but big + is map is huge, zones are huge but also capacity per server is big between 10-12 k players per server!I cant wait alpha 2 and test it all those systems in the game!

  3. I'm still not convinced this game isn't just an ongoing marketing tool for endless crowdfunding. I hope I'm wrong, but this is starting to look like another decade long project that could easily be a total flop. Star Citizen and Shroud of the Avatar vibes.

  4. This is why players need to optimize their time. The good news is that casual players can reap the benefits of nodes without actually contributing much to it. When you the possibility of losing high-end crafting, housing, and having to start a node over will be enough incentive to care.

  5. 1. Not every game has to be for the casual player. (Also, having invested players are most of the time better than having a lot of casuals.)
    2. WOW, didnt become big because of the casuals, but because of the other players!
    3. The main problem the game might have is the combat, because if the combat is bad, the game will fail. What I mean by that: It has to feel good.
    4. Second problem, the graphics dont look that great at the moment either.
