Players like Asmon are deliberately lying about this.
"Nonconsentual" pvp is the perfect response to dealing with shitty players around you. Imagine you are farming mobs for xp or gear and someone comes in and steals your grindspot because they are able to mob tag slightly better or for whatever reason. You ask them nicely to share, leave, or have a fair duel for the spot.
Asmon is 100% the type of player to say NO HAHA GET FKED and take your grind spot with no remorse.
Thats a type of griefing too, and you and I both know that type of player has a sht eating devilish grin on their face as they KNOW they ruined your time and your grind spot and made you leave.
Dont pretend we both dont know.
Pvp can be used in this way to say fk off this is my spot. Thats a great use for it. Steven talks about using pvp to take a risk reward chance to fight over resources or area or influence. This is the designed purpose of the pvp in this game and it works well. The beginner zone stuff with asmon was irregular, and its good they add a solution, but as a whole the system works decently so far for its intended purpose in the rest of the game
