  1. Wow, the management of AoC also runs the subreddit? I thought the guy arguing with content creators was too much, but we're far past that. Always stay away from games with that culture going on because content creators become sock puppets of the devs.

EDIT: exactly the problem you have with this topic is that he didn't demonstrate his claims well enough, and this game has so many glazing defenders that it's not possible to tell who is actually right about the points made. We need an independent 3rd party to investigate how much reality is to each claim.

  2. Narc did show the desert before, what he was talking about was the supposed ´´expansion´´ that the desert was gonna receive, also he was in a joking manner making it seem more exagerated because it was an extract of one of his streams, probably not the best idea since people took it as ´´exposing ashes´´. As he said he made the video for his audience (which already knew about the desert) not really thinking it was gonna go viral, which is in part fault of Asmon and Steven making the whole deal way worse causing a kind of Streissand effect.

  3. A good example of a dev interacting with the community is Mortdog, the Teamfight Tactics dev. Feels like a lot of the devs who try to interact with their community could learn a lot from him.

  4. I thought the referal program which was shown on the screen was for only intrepid bucks. Which would only be used for the in game shop once the game releases. How would content creators be owed money from that?

  5. I'm just about to start this video. I really hope you have watched the Asmongold video when him and Steve were on asmongold stream talking about all this. Looking forward to the main video. Steves response was getting wild, was a crazy nearly 4 hours of youtube content.

  6. I think any honest, real world adult who consistently watched narcs content over the last year would be aware of narcs declining mental health and stability. It has been very sad to watch.

  7. I’ve never played ashes of creation, so I have no bias cause I don’t even care. But I’ve watched videos covering both sides and it seems like narc is being disingenuous and it seems like he’s just a little butt hurt about something.

  8. I think your take on paid testers is a bit short sighted.

Do companies pay for game testers? Yes but you are comparing a game funded by publishers, with likely a more narrow and focused testing phase with limited numbers of people actually testing.

Which has its pros and cons, example of pros is you can give them access to more depth of systems earlier potentially or hyper focus on specific systems.

But no publisher pays 100,000 people to test their game. They would do a short term beta key alpha for a weekend or a week. Where the cost of bandwidth is limited and focused as well but it also opens up people generally just signing up for those tests just to play and not really help out at all other than server load testing.

Charging $200 or what ever it costs (I don't have it) will cover each testers bandwidth over the course of different alpha phases going forward.

Bandwidth costs is not insignificant. Especially for the years it will likely be in production but available for people to play and test.

The price tag also keeps "some" people from clogging up the servers that have no interest in reporting bugs, not all by any means about it does help.

I do think it's a bit foolish to expect a game without a publisher to pay testers at scale tho.

Also as a side note I do feel like you should have just made one video going over everything all at once or doing the research to make a more informed video.

Instead of reacting to a largely debunked video. Most of everything is cleared up in the asmongold interview stream video. Because it seems like from watching your video you are out of the loop on the project too. Which is ok, its just that by reacting so late to the "drama" it makes your video look just a bit more uninformed than it could have been by taking everything into account all at once. Maybe it's more of a timing thing. Like this reaction would have been better made around narcs video release and then you did a follow-up video after the interviews since that's been out for awhile now at this point.

  9. lol its insane to me that this guys think hes a "normal" and "relatable" guy this guy is so damn obsessed wit hthis game and his literal lively hood depends on it. I've never watched this guy cause hes so clearly obsessed with the game before it even comes out, this is the farthest thing from "normal" you can get

  10. I thought Steven is very sketchy ever since he tried to make the Ashes Battle Royale.. He said he was testing the skills while selling cosmetics on a crap alpha battle royale. Then he started selling Alpha keys for hundreds of dollars… Dude's character is so untrustworthy no way I'm buying something from him..

  12. steven sharif is literally a scammer who made a living by scamming in MLM scams. theres not really any point nitpicking into his MMO, it was an obvious scam from day 1 and hasn't changed in its obvious scam strategy since. at best, steven sharif is just paying yes men developers so that he can now roleplay as a MMO designer. at worst, its just another of his MLM scams. or probably both.

  13. Narc life was fully dependent on aoc as he was the biggest creature for the game and he was full time. And ye gone into full negativity spiral this year.

If you do full research on this will you watch the referenceed show cases. What's your usual process on investigation to get to the facts?
I assumed that referral links were just for store credit.

Made this post before watching full video.

  14. kira why are you falling for the "desert is not actually empty" narrative? surely you understand what a red herring, strawman, scapegoating etc is. because thats all they are doing. why would narc make a dozen valid points, and then also insert a lie asserting the desert is empty? its literally what the desert "expansion" looks like, go pay $110 and test it for yourself if you dont believe narc. why the fuck would narc lie, dude lives in a pizza hut fortress.

  15. ive been playing the game and spending a lot of time in the desert. you cant gather but you can farm mobs and make money. the place looks great, has quiet grind spots, and a nearby town to sell at. i have no idea what the fuck people are talking about.

  16. Most based, objective video on this. Why does Asmon, being very critical and always farming content on likewise drama, all of a sudden is so bias? Is it because he has a relationship with Steven? So he feels like having to defend him and then drop it, while in the past he would farm it like crazy.
