We tend to have super high expectations when we’re excited for certain things, especially media. The Ashes of Creation Alpha 2 is no different. Alpha 2 is going to be exactly what we make it.

Only 4 days left! I hope Ashes of Creation is what you’re looking for in an MMO, homie. See you in Verra.

As a spot tester, it's a ramp up phase.
Consider, all the Demos we saw, well, most of them, were 10 or less people. The ones that weren't were just one tiny corner of the world with a boss.
Spot testing showed me they reduced everything down in the world so they could add more than 10 people. It was Terrible at first.
Then they added more and more people. It's now pretty decent. NOW starts the next ramp to 3k per server.
Now, once they have a target number per server, they'll have then fixed the login and server transfer issues.
AFTER THAT they will add more and more things into the world to get BACK to demo level display/interactions.
Look at the wiki, almost all classes have been revamped like the Bard.
Goooood laaaaaaawd theres gonna be some fiiiiiends lining up come this weekend… im definitely getting my ashes fix all weekend 😂😂😂
Someone call my copium dealer and tell him im switchin to the good stuff 🎉🔥🐦🔥
HA! i love the video, and watching your background grow from nothing to slowly collecting stuff….its great!
Great comparison with Naruto.
Thanks again man!
What're you doing for the next 4 days to make it go by quickly?
I, for one, am ready to sit in a queue and/or not get into game all weekend! That's because I'm a grown adult man that manages his expectations. Let's goooooooooo! Great vid, as always.
You also have to remember that the Ashes of Creation production/development methodology (called Agile) is different to that of any MMO that preceded it, so even if the Alpha2 was different to previous Alpha2s for other reasons as well, it would be completely different anyway.
The basic idea of this Agile system, is that for each feature (at the level you are testing) you start with only with a barebones "must have" design, predicated by previous design decisions, and then essentially go through Alpha1/Alpha2/Beta1, for each feature with your players/customers, so it conforms to what they want without a lot of rework. Calling this level of feature cycles, "Alpha2" is itself a reach.
In reality, every time they introduce a new mechanic or feature, it is going to be rough, and if you look at the roadmap you know ahead of time what they are going to be in Alpha2 Phases 1-3. There are going to be posts from Alpha2, where testers talk about things having "Gone backwards" every time this happens, I am certain.
Participation in Alpha2 (particularly Phase1) is going to be a manic-depressive experience, so if you are not strong mentally, try to ignore it.
Probably be playing T&L, ready to get in and break things. Mainly excited about just being in the world.
LOL thanks for the great video and laugh Q !
First
I'm in it for the long haul. I was a player in the BG3 Early Access for nearly 3 years and a fantastic game in the end was the result. It was a broken buggy mess in some aspects, but Larian improved, and even better, took player feedback. I believe Intrepid will do the same.
I always skip fillers
