It'll be great to see what you guys do in game with The Golden Feather! What kind of node do you think you'll try to find to host it in?
I never have understood the speed levelers. They always race to finish everything than complain about nothing to do. I do appreciate them though as they do all of the build testing and info gathering for me while I enjoy the world. I'm too casual to worry about running/maintaining a freehold and such anyway. I'm cool with supporting my friends and guildies. Freeholds can be taken out anyway so go on and rush on to get one. I'll enjoy watching the fights over them 😉
It won't matter if you are at the max level. What will matter is maxing out the node, which will take longer and will be a group goal. If you are looking at crafting, 2 out of three types of crafting will be based on the level of the node.
I do see guilds rushing to the max level, though.
I rush max leve simply because I enjoy my personal character progression over anything else. The faster I level the more xp I contribute to my home node also. I'm able to achieve those level locked end game goals like trying for a freehold, and probably obtaining my final rank in a social organization. Not really into crafting so that is what I usually do when I find myself waiting for others to catch up or "run out of things to do." Which is hardly cuz I will happily just do some sort of battlegrounds hopefully. Some people don't care about levels and just want to be in a tavern and rp all day, or some just wanna craft. It's to each their own and what makes you enjoy yourself, which is what a game is supposed to be for. Albeit you're not grieving other players.
My guess for the max level for a freehold may be because of pvp. Keep others from trying to camp you at your freehold cause they know they are going to meet max level resistance.
How cool would it be if they put in large training grounds in the guildhalls where two friendly groups could "spar" or face off against each other to train in pvp with very little or no loss or flagging. Like for me I am awful at pvp but if I could practice with a good group I may not feel like I should hide and stick to just crafting in town all day. Also would be a good way to judge group ability rather than a dps meter.
