—Ashes Of Creation MMO Description—

Ashes Of Creation is a colossal MMORPG attempting to provide fans of PVP, PVE and Roleplay an everchanging world and the ultimate MMO experience, the game will have the following:

9 different playable races both with male and female options.
480 square kilometer world size at launch.
Fully open world game where you can go from one size of the map to the other no loading screens.
Dungeons, Raids, World Bosses, Open World PVP with a criminal system, Caravan PVP, castle sieges, node sieges, arenas, duels, guild wars, crafting and artisan system, monster coin events, political system, citizenship, player run shops, taverns with parlor games, top tier character customization, transmog cosmetic collection, 64 different class combinations, 3 different forms of player housing both open world and instanced, achievements, leaderboards, gathering, questing, hybrid combat system, player driven economy with localized storage, pets, massive guild system with guild halls, both land and water mounts and 18 different biomes in the world.

Every week or two the season changes which makes zones feel completely different and if all of that wasn’t enough, something I often forget is that the game will have an entire Archeage style naval system where you can sail across the ocean on massive ships and partake in Naval PVP

Ashes started development back in 2016 in Unreal Engine 4 however at the end of 2021 upgraded its engine to Unreal 5 to make use of the latest advancements in gaming tech such as nanite, lumen and a more efficient development pipeline, In terms of funding the game was successfully kickstarted in 2017 however the vast majority of the games funding comes from creative director Steven Sharif, a successful entrepreneur who like most of us has been a lifelong MMO fan that was unhappy with the current state of the MMORPG genre, Ashes Of Creation is fully funded to completion and despite offering paid access to Alpha and Beta tests is not reliant on these funds to finish development.

This game will have zero pay to win, a cosmetic only cash shop with no convenience items and a $15 per month subscription fee business model with no box cost.

A sand park MMO is basically a hybrid of theme park and sandbox, there’s a lot of player driven content however there’s also developer curated scripted encounters such as raids and dungeons…This is the category of MMO that Ashes Of Creation falls into and personally It’s my favorite type of MMORPG.

  1. I gotta be honest, everything about the game looks fantastic, but I don't have any expectations for when I do, if ever, get to actually play it.
And when it ever does come out, I fully expect the game to play NOTHING like they claim it will. Jaded or just realistic? I have no clue.

  2. I have decided to uninstall BDO, Lost Ark and WoW. None of these games are worth my time anymore. Just waiting for Ashes and if it fails done with mmo's. I will just casually play gw2 until ashes releases.

  3. With the vast array of improvements/ innovations they may instill in this game, it may take a few more years before they release this to the public. But all hope are currently intact with the latest Dev Streams/ Updates they've been rolling out.

  4. Got so long to go… playing all the alphas so far and all the spot testing… can honestly say it's got years and years to go… NPCs floating, combat still horrendous… yes it's Alpha but these things should of been tuned back when they were peddling 'battle theme royale' over 2 yrs ago… that all said… still a 10k backer… still buy all monthly (exclusive cosmetics)… remain skeptical.

  5. i dont kina like sandbox games cause the make crafting a thing u need to do… i really hope that the game gives enough opportunity to ppl that like PvE without needing to craft for hours…

  6. I think the city note system is really cool, however, the game play like world of warcraft in terms of combat and warcraft is 15 years old
That type of combat is no fun anymore for me, I need something more intense, more engaging.
Auto attacking and spam keybindings is boring af lol.

  7. The aesthetics of this game are so ugly. It already looks like something from the last decade and it's only going to age worse. I definitely prefer an anime aesthetic or cartoon aesthetic.

  8. Man I hope this game actually pans out.

Also, I love being a merchant or crafting or such in games, so I would totally be a trader, forming caravans to take advantage of the changing economy!

  9. See but this game has a huge problem it’s going to face regardless if the game is good or bad…if the community isn’t there, if the community isn’t consistent, if they don’t communicate,if the community is full of assholes and griefers and elitist…this game will live and die by its community idk, with the way people play games differently and want different things from said game I just generally think this is a dangerous design especially with a monthly subscription…

I mean could you imagine not being able to play the way you want to play because your city/town has been down for weeks?

  10. $15 a month?! $180 a year – EVERY year. They've gotten rid of microtransaction greed, by using subscriptioon greed instead.
You're going to have to do a INCREDIBLE job to convince me taht's worth even considering.

  11. really loving what there doing, i do however have concerns about loosing my house and mats by pvpers that are simply better than me, or my node citizens, will have to see hows it goes right! MAYBE this game will get me back into pvp

  12. This game seems heavily invested in forcing players to pvp – everywhere you turn that seems to be the end goal, it is also forcing group content, both of these things is why this game will fail sadly. It looks promising but it does not appear to be a solo able game, tis will turn loads of prospective players away from it.
Something else that will cause it to fail, is the system of constant change. It sounds brilliant and is indeed innovative, but players like "consistency" in the sense of keeping what they have played hard to attain. This game effectively will take away what you worked hard to attain i.e. housing – only to lose it if your node is destroyed and only way to prevent that is to force you to PVP, which not all players enjoy.
There is also the fact that there are 9 races and 64 classes – again players don't have that level of attention to character creation and there is simply too much choice. Say someone creates a class and then proceeds to play it for 5 or 6 levels and then decide that class is not for them, the idea of crating a new character is a huge turn off BECAUSE of the choices available – i.e. what happens if I don't like the new class? Can I be bothered going through the 64 classes until I find one that best fits my play style etc?
Sometimes less is more and truth speaking personally for myself – I was hyped about this game when I first heard about it and have been keeping an ear to the ground, but the more I hear the less I like it – too much PVP for my liking and also I don't like things being forced on me i.e. pvp, and losing that which I gained by hard playtime. It kind of takes the piss out of people's play time. Over time this will hurt the game, sadly.

  13. A lot of people, Peon included, are overdosing on copium with this game… all these cool features aside (which, in my opinion, many of them will become tedious/boring or just uninteresting after the first few times you do them/see them, like who wants to hunt goblins in a forest for some coins? You'll do it once and that's about it), the game's graphics are still kinda weird, it's like a weird blend between fantasy/gaming graphics and realistic graphics and it just doesnt mesh together very well. Also, the combat still looks very amateurish (I dont know how it FEELS as I havent touched the game ever, only been following it since it's inception, but it looks very bland and boring, I wish they could turn the combat more into something like BDO has, or at the very least something like WoW/ArcheAge… but it is not there yet) and these two things are the end all be all of MMOs. You need good graphics that mesh well with a fluent combat, everything else is secondary.

I have faith in the studio but damn, I am not holding out hope. So far even with all the improvements it still looks really subpar (and yes, I know it's an Alpha and bla bla bla, but this is simply how I feel right now). Good luck to Steven, he's gonna need it with this game.

  14. All these sound grandiose and interesting but many of these features are out of reach for casuals and solo'ers. I love MMOs and have played a lot over the last 23 years but unfortunately I, as well as many others do not have the free time to play a game 8+ hours a day.
