  1. Hey Narc, I understand more than anyone how difficult it can be to remain patient and supportive of something you are excited for that may be taking more time then you’d like. After all, I’ve been working towards the same goals for the better part of 8 years, with having put my own personal fortune where my mouth is with millions invested in the success of Ashes. Over the years I’ve seen content creators come and go, some went so far they feel off the deep end. And I say this to you, as someone who once enjoyed your content and passion, and to anyone else who shares in the feeling of your despair over the development of Ashes; it’s healthier to take a break and checkin closer to launch. We will continue to work on bringing Ashes to life. When the game is ready to launch, you can come back and check it out.

  2. I don’t think this game is a fraud on purpose. What I do think, is that the devs got lazy over the years and started slacking off (or losing motivation). It’s also possible devs realized that they were in over their heads at some point but also knew it was too late for them to back out. And here we are, 8 years later, a barebones alpha test that uses lengthy leveling to keep people busy. Cuz the devs know when the players see how barebones this game is, they’d realize something doesn’t add up. In essence, this game has become a fraud, in spite of the devs’ intentions

  3. Bro your videos are the worst! Is that something you want to hear while attempting to build your brand?

Sure you are attracting my attention which is then giving you a comment which contributes possibly to your success but I won’t be following you.

  4. Reasonable argument regarding rogue delay and player feedback, but the other side of that argument is that initial iteration on rogue will prevent massive reporting duplication of already known issues and result in a massive flux of new issues. Seems like they are wisely optimizing for deeper feedback on rogue with bulked up player feedback opporunities.

  5. testing the planned leveling rate is important. I wouldn't doubt we get many changes regarding the leveling rate as well as periods where they make us play at specific levels (to play specific content). This is how an Amazon MMO did their alpha testing (when I was hired to test the alpha) and its standard in testing for any games with progression systems.
My concern is that because nobody has stake in their Alpha character, PvP will be impossible to get a proper gauge on and I have no idea how they tackle that tbh. An inverse issue happened with the Amazon MMO in testing where we didn't engage in unfair fights because we all kinda knew each other so when we did want to PvP we'd try to make it a fair duel but this is nothing like how the PvP turned out for the game though which shows a failure in testing on our end (and slightly on Amazons end for not calling this behavior out).

  6. I see a lot of people criticizing the way you say things and give feed back. But I'd say Narc is justified based on the predatory cosmetic shop prices throughout the years, as well as the game arguably not being ready for an Alpha 2 test 8 years into development. This along with misleading information throughout the monthly updates is why he talks about it like he does. Also unless some big breakthrough happens the game likely won't release for another 6 years and we're supposed to be okay with this? A possible 14 years of total development is a fucking joke.

  7. It was entertaining at first, Narc, but now it just feels straight disrespectful. Honestly, I feel like you need to apologise at this point. You keep saying you're 'just one nerd, desperate for a good mmo'…. it's time to start acting like it. Definitely getting too big for your boots mate.

  8. Honesty too much negativity recently on your vids Narc… Way before it was fan to watch your videos but now not anymore… I dont care if this game is gonna full release now, or in the next 10 years, however you turn it i am not a kid anymore and i can play too much games anymore (you know, work, and familie), and im pretty sure 70% of peope are in my position… And while we are all exited for a MMO that litteraly doesnt exist i still play other games, and Narc you should too.. Try Throne and Liberty, kill couple of dozens hours while you wait… Just please dont bash anymore… Peope will cancel you hard and you will end up alone crying in your room playing New World or some othet shit… Which is ok! I think you need a longer break from AoC… Like if you dont want to support it, than dont bash it, just move on… And wait till game releases in 2076.

  9. The plain truth is, as I have said from the very beginning, that moving to UE5 was a massive mistake. Erasing nearly half a decade of development to chase the shiny new engine historically almost always results in development hell and ultimately a needlessly delayed, half-baked final product if it released at all.

'Wha' Happun's entire youtube channel is dedicated to chronicling the history of projects just like this, granted only some of the games he goes over are failed MMO's, but the same general poor management decisions are so consistent regardless of the game's scope and genre. Not only does he go through history already available to the public, but he actually interviews those games' original developers wherever possible to get their first-hand perspective of what went wrong from the inside. I've watched at least half a dozen of his historical game documentaries with the exact same general development pattern, and this game's history is eerily similar.

  10. I really kind of annoys me when people do these stupid extrapolations with no concept of how game development works. Like somehow it'll take multiple years just to design some biomes. Or could it be that you just don't do that at this stage of development, because they have their hands full designing the god damn systems? The only reason we know anything about the state of the biomes at all is because of open development, which causes them to do somethings ass backwards just to keep the peanut gallery entertained. And is no small part as to why its taking so damn long.

  11. As someone whos looking out for you, I know you're a bit on the spectrum but you got to tone it down a little, you have a chance to be a huge creator in the space be set for life etc, there's a guy in path of exile who was a creator for a while even though he was an unhinged weirdo, he was making money on youtube / twitch but one day he sperged too hard in live streams started calling the creator a bald fucking retard after some changes he didn't approve of were announced ( the game is doing better than ever so it was just his hot takes). Next minute they perma banned his account and banned him from streaming the game and ruined his career overnight. I'm sure after his emotions settled down and after a while he finally regretted his actions and wishes he could have reigned in his unhinged spergynss. Moral of the story, you might be feeling upset which is fine, just be careful how you proceed I wouldn't be surprised if action is taken against you if you amp up the unhinged.

  13. You're not good my friend.
The things you're talking about in the video are valid points or opinions, but the way you express it is way too dramatic, it really feels like they're big problems, when in reality nothing of this will affect the development that much.

Yeah everything is subject to change because thats litterally the nature of game development, and if we had seen more open developments of other AAA companies, we would actually see how directions, priorities and deadlines change constantly, in every single way.

We all agree that feedback is feedback, good or bad, but this is not the way. And again, i'd understand all your point if you didnt overreact this much.
