The freehold article had a ton of information, which was nice to see. Steven pulling up to talk to Jamie & Anie though about Ashes of Creation was the highlight of this weekend, for sure.

What is Ashes of Creation? Ashes of Creation is a unique take on the MMORPG experience. Our world structure is dynamic, and built to react to your actions. Cities will rise and fall as you shape the world of Verra. Quests and secrets will unlock as populations gather and their needs grow. As the world’s NPC structure is established in real-time, you will have the ability to destroy what’s been created, paving the way for new developments, populations, and change. Political strife and intrigue will play a very real role in the structure of your experience. Gone are the days of static worlds; change is here to stay!

All across Verra, you have the opportunity to experience massive warfare, participate in epic trade caravans, and gather valuable components to craft exquisite items. Not only will your fellow players be your adversaries; the creatures of the land and the very environment itself will pose a constant and fresh challenge. Will you siege castles to become royalty, defeat other guilds to showcase your prowess, shape the marketplace by being a successful trader, or earn renown by developing your artisan crafting skills? This is your story, you tell us!

  1. Steven is to be protected at all cost. The dude is a gem and I really hope that his vision with Ashes comes to full light. Keep up the grind Q, you are putting out great videos and your own passion is shining through as well 🙂

  2. I was given a heads up and got on Twitch about half way through and then went back and watched the uploaded video, replaying some parts several times. I found the explanations and comments both illuminating and encouraging. I'd like to see many more of those casual, unannounced drop ins. I do think, however, that SS has become a very polished PR front man, mainly through OJT, and is very cognizant of the preeminent need to address public misconceptions. That stream was in the process of considering two of the major areas of complaint that had arisen after the Freehold dev update, and the clarifications that he gave converted a lot of viewers, including myself. I believe that he has given sufficient evidence that he personally monitors the output of the AoC community and I believe that his appearance, while perhaps impromptu, was not accidental or without conscious design. As I am quite cynical, I'll even go so far as to say that he already knew about the regularly scheduled broadcast and even the topic hours or days prior. That said, it was fun, and if he doesn't do it more often he will miss a fantastic opportunity to fire up the AoC community.

  3. I stopped following AoC for a while… but I’ve caught the bug again.

I’m dying to see any small bit of info and can’t wait to be part of the Alpha 2 testing!

I enjoy your channel! Thanks for the positive vibes and quality content.

  4. Love Ashes of Creation but a little concerned about Freeholds gating the processing artisan classes. I'm okay with big guilds, large families, and the hard work to acquire freeholds but don't feel they should be the only way to pursue artisan classes like Animal Husbandry or Lumber Milling. There should public processing buildings available to build as nodes advance just like the crafting stations. However, if enough players with freeholds open their processing buildings for a fee (gold or % amount processed) to the player base it might not be so bad. I don't think we will know until it is tested in Alpha 2. Still lean towards that all processing buildings should be available in nodes at least at low tier level.

  5. I came away with two trains of thoughts…

One is that these baronies are for guilds or larger groups where a guild hall and guild leaders surround the hall, and both are just a stone throw from the node.

My second conclusion was that these were the only freehold locations. Even the writeup did not mention any other locations and specifically said pre-determined area.

So the freehold demo was not even accurate to where you can place a freehold. Only clode to nodes now.

    Or am I missing something…
