Ashes of Creation is an open world MMORPG set in a fantasy environment where you can choose different classes and races to adventure through with your friends. Intrepid Studios is the developer behind the game. They’re technically an indie studio, but their creative director Steven Sharif has a clear vision for his video game: Massively Multiplayer Role Playing Game. He wants to put the massive back in MMO. Exploring dungeons, griding for gear, crafting armor/weapons, learning new spells, and competing in large scale PvP battles. High end PvE such as raids will mainly occur in the open world. Bosses will spawn and roam through the land. Are YOU ready to enter the world of Verra?

  1. every time i hear news about this game, i see that more and more of it will only be accesible to a tiny portion of the playerbase. most of the node mechanics, every boss on the map, flying mounts, guild keeps, seiges, and top tier crafting all seem designed to be monopolized by a small amount of poopsockers on every server

  2. And another spectacularly well done video!

The popping up of assets and drawing distance of players right now is terrible and probably the worst and most concerning part of the test right now for me. Hope it's not a sign of any serious server or engine limitations, some games like BDO never managed to fix it.
To be fair they improved it a lot in the last PTR version, so I'm optimistic about the future.

  3. Hold on. Hold on. What about the best reason ever to declare a node war? What about just liking PvP? We did not come to this game to pick flowers and pet dogs. We came to raise our empire and destroy our enemy's empire. I bet you are the type of guy who just likes to watch Vera burn sometimes. I would not be surprised to see you Node Dec on random node 3 because, well, you have Friday off and you want to see what it looks like to wage war against all those people. I am sure after the Node War is over, you will log into their Discord and have a good after action review with them. I do not know if I have ever seen you actually dislike someone you had a PvP fight with, you just like PvP. Personally, I am STOKED to get a chance to have a war that is bigger than group v group or guild v guild. Whichever side we are on when the Node War is declared. I am sure you will do well. Hail and Kill! Merry Christmas!

  4. At this phase of Alpha, sieges are prob not a good idea yet. Unless Nodes become easier to build/rank up (fewer resources required to build them), having one destroyed that you've spent dozens of hours contributing to …. players will log off for a long time. No one wants to rebuild a Node; takes too much time and effort. This will stifle the growth of Nodes in a realm, therefore stifling gear and character progress.

  5. Insightful content as always sir, player render distance certainly needs to be improved. Draw distance is more important than player density imo. If you can't see players in the distance farming trees or mobs, are you really in an MMORPG?
