  1. So in conclusion, if you have time, a pc and electricity in your house, money to spend, and enjoy being "test dummy" through bugs and unfinished components of a "potential mmo" in the future. All for 3 weekends, then yes, this is for you.

  2. Also to be clear, not all phase 1 (2, 3) stuff if available at start date but will be made available sometime during if they're able to keep them in the phase. For example, they stated empyrean will not be available on phase 1 launch, but later in phase 1

  3. the stream was pretty emotional in my opinion steven steped up at some point and washed away all the negativity that was build up.
Its was indeed a great stream and IMO the key prices are reasonable. AoC has so much attention right now i can imagine that with alpha Keys for the price of 30-50€ the number of participants could be unmanageable and also everybody who supported them back in kickstarter would start to flame them that others have the oppurtinity to test for basicly cheaper acess

  4. Big surprise, dev makes big promises, and proceeds to vastly overcharge for players to test the game. Yes, because we take money AWAY from people who test games. That makes sense. Such an absurd amount, to boot.

  5. They mentioned at the end of the stream that the first wave of Alpha 2 keys will be released on November 8th because they want to give the current Alpha 2 holders some extra copium as a goodie.

  6. I have to say this is quite worrying. £100 to “play” (read work) the alpha. After everything that’s gone on in the gaming industry lately this is so egregious and makes me that this game will only ramp up in Pay to Win as time goes by. Paying to get early experience is still pay to win imho. 😢

  7. it's a strange gimmick to have to pay that much for just testing their stuff for such a short time, AND people paid enough already?
IMHO it should be free where they invite the players who are most invested in time spent, and ofc money spent.

Starcitizen atleast has free plans so to test their alpha out, and an entry free of 45 bucks to play it indefinitly until 1.0 where we will see how they play with a subscription or other money schemes like skinz, real money for ingame currency etc.

These companies needs to earn money somehow, because those server parks ain't free, neither is the work in their companies. That said, Intrepid has a strange way of doing things imho….. but if the games are great (Starcitizen and Ashes of Creation) they will no doubtly have a subscription fee where people gladly pay per month. Just look at WoW before they messed it up….

  8. i liked the stream. i was annoyed at first that they wanted to bring the keys back because i thought i would have waited and chosen other cosmetics than i have with the pack. but since its just the keys i think its fine. i like their plans for the A2.

  9. noone is twisting your arm to do alphatesting they are grateful ofc if people do sign up for it (pay) its gonna make the game so much better to get everyones input.. so instead of nagging about the price dont do the alpha and check out Narc wids and get info from him:)

  10. "Tempering and Gear Ascension" is Archeage feature probably.. you should kno that tbh. It used to be an upgrade gamba where your gear would literally break on failure. I imagine in ashes it will be some gamba system too for enchanting gear but not as punishing.
