It’s become a regular occurance to address Community concerns and disappointment throughout Ashes of Creations development in 2023. As the games community grows, people continue to set expectations far above the reality and that’s ok.
It’s not reasonable for everyone new and old to the project to have a grasp on the development timeline and that’s where Steven Sharif steps in to put some concerns to rest. and in todays video, we’re going to bring this new information to light to help quell a few of the concerns for this highly anticipated MMORPG.

Probably gonna take a few videos to get these audio settings right for the new mic! But I can only thank you guys for helping me to upgrade my setup! This new mic is significantly better than the old one, I just need to learn how to use it properly! (surely I’m capable of doing that, right?)

  2. The recent Larian release ought to convince them they are on the right path. Make a working, good product, with good mechanics, good story, good acting, good music, and everyone will believe it to be 10/10, even if it's a 7/10. Just make it good, that's all we want. It need not be perfect, or the best ever, just make it good, for the LOVE OF GOD!!!

  3. If you haven't noticed it yet I'll point it out, since I'm developing on the same thing right now. See the foliage & the weird bend with "wind". The material has to much focus on X (or Y, possibly & likely both Axis) in the WPO (World position Offset), they really need to tone it down & tune it. Possibly make & use a new "Simplewind" system. One of the many polishes that is yet to come they mention & one of the systems that could give them trouble as its easier to make it worse (E.G. foliage moves off branches in trees or dances across the ground).

  4. Tbh the comment was perfectly fine, the criticism was based on the fact that leading to the stream, it was called the node livesteam, not the village showcase.

If it was called the village showcase when it was announced, then it would have set the expectation on what to expect.

I think that when you make a video about a genuinely legitimate point like this (and arguably misconstrue it a bit by citing the name of the showcase video which was published during and after the stream) you're leaning to white Knight territory.

I'd like to think you try to give criticism of intrepid where it's due, you used to have a bit more of a balance but I just feel like this was a needless comment to bat back on.

  5. Ashes of creation will take more than 12 years to develop. First of all, no matter how impressive this game is, you can not play it within next 3 or 4 years. That is a very long long time. Then, no matter what an impressive concept proposed at beginning, after ten years, this concept would not be impressive for sure, no matter what you promised, 10 years is a very very long time. Last, how many 12 years in someone's life? this game is definitely not a good example for any game companies. Really really bad business.

  6. The stream was a mayor systems overview and did not focus much on the node itself. The only reason I mention it is that 90+% of the players will never see or utilize these systems. And to devote an entire livestream targeting a small of players, at this time, was a waste of precious time.

  7. Just realize that your childhood will be over when final release happens and by then you will have responsibilities outside of three hours raid time Saturday after your kids soccer game is over and you mow the lawn.

  8. Half the people that complain about the wait for official release will put the game down after a month. They simply do not have the patience for a game that is more catered to an oldschool mmo audience. Long journey to leveling, limited fast travel, no group finders/LFR. After a month of playing they'll complain about those things too. Just gotta ignore them and move forward.

  9. the issue is with development this SLOW you'll never get a modern game released because by the time you develop and release, tech will have surpassed you and you'll look dated.I mean this looks like New World, which is OK for now, will it be OK in 2026? The bar is always being raised and if you take 10 years to develop, you'll never catch up.

  10. I think the full release of the game will be around 2026-2027 and I'm afraid in the meantime the new Unreal Engine comes out and they will remake the engine and delay the game like the last time. It's just my fear and I want to put it out there.

  11. What is wrong with people? Like seriously what is wrong with people? This update looks great, just like they all have. The game looks incredible. The progress has been consistent and tangible. They are creating a revolutionary generational masterpiece of a game.

  12. I understand Stevens speed of the game development because he wants it to be perfect but it's been in development for 8 years now and it honestly still feels 3 years away from just beta. I'm losing hope for this game very quickly as is much of the MMO community. It's kind of feeling like Star citizen. Too ambitious and will never be in a state to be released. I hope Steven reads this and can understand how we are feeling as a community.
