  1. The idea sounds great, the mayor of the node uses the tax gold to upgrade the node itself.

But why do the AoC devs call it a "node"? It sounds so meh. Calling it a town or settlement or village sounds like a place where you can live in.

  2. Its patently obvious that the companies that control EF or WW take in crazy cash. This cash goes to craft roll and buy BIS gear for their members which strengthens their hold on the territory. I'm kinda cool with this, I am in a small company that will never hold a territory. But I'm happy boosting about with them.

  3. Well been playing for over a week advanced my gear to 620 no where near bis. I wish I could take the best parts of ESO and the best of New world and shove them together. ESO combat is far faster smoother though feels a touch less impact full than new world, that could be because new world character movement is just so janky, so you feel it much more when you get slowed or stunned. ESO crafting system is better and more rewarding. The gathering system in new world is far superior and more rewarding. Character models in ESO are more detailed and far better cosmetics, though new world environments are more pleasing. The combat in new world will probably be what keeps me in ESO in the end.

As for the video topic, that system should never have gone live. It is one of the reasons the population dropped off the way it did, aside from all the bots, the exploits, and bugs.

  4. Yeah, the system definitely needs to change. What bugs me is when town owners don't upgrade or start new buffs, they just rake in the gold. There needs to be some sort of town exclusive rewards that aren't gold, skins are a good idea, like you said. I think companies also need a progression system of their own that takes gold out of the economy, .

The company system in New World is pretty basic, but it could be much more. They could even tie progression of a Company leveling system to maintaining a town, you get a bit of progress when you start a town project etc. They could also have a town owner specific tax that goes to the faction and gets redistributed as some sort of reward through the faction vendor. I also think it would be cool if town owners could send supplies from one town to the next that spawns a caravan that players need to protect from opposing factions and AI enemies. That would obviously cost gold to spawn.

  5. I was speaking to some people about this a while back. And AoC idea is pretty much spot on with what I suggested. Although I think a solid way to reward the players of the guild is as goes. All housing tax gets put in a pot and every week the (Game) pays that to every company member.for example Gov gets the highest % of what's in that pot. counsel gets 2nd highest % officers 3rd and then the rest gets paid out equally between members. And all trade and crafting taxes go into a separate pot. That can only be spent on the town. Defence upgrades buffs ect. Win/win all round. (Obviously that's just a rough idea lol)

  6. I suppose one thing that could be done is take windsward, owned by one company. Perhaps there could be a dozen or so "nodes" to use the parlance here, that are given to other companies to manage and each one provides a layer of defence to windsward, it also provides income and material which is in the interest of the controlling company to protect and look after. This might spread some of the money round.
The flaw is that the big companies would create "shell" companies I suppose to hold them but hey its maybe a thing.

  7. in a short way i love how they listen to us to their community . I DONT like to see or hear the word that they should listen or learn from another game … i really respect and love the developer of NW.

  8. A company on my server owns windsward and another territory, they rake in about 1.5 mill a week roughly and pay their war rostered players around 30-50k a week, maybe some a little more.

  9. As one of those "warmongerers", as you put it, these days you see most of the big companies simply paying their war roster and territory influence pushers anywhere from 5-50k gold every week or event instead of crafting BIS gear. It was much more common for the gold to be used for gear in the past but these days it's changed a lot 😀

  10. I agree with you that AGS would have to add more layers of town development to make an Ashes of Creation type reward system work in New World. Right now, crafting stations are usually already at their max tier, and the town buffs are limited which typically overlap with other town buffs.

  11. I think i would be fine with like a 60% into the town and 40% to the pockets bc like you mentioned the people who fight for these territories deserve a huge reward for having the best most fought over node in the game this goes same for ashes I hope its not all into the town bc that's not as rewarding like yea you own the town but you personally get nothing out of working for it. i just like the big reward haha I think the % could be messed with but that is def the way to go. The % would still need to be good enough to pay out your entire guild I remember playing bdo we had payout weeks and every active player who fought in wars or helped in any way would get an allowance of sorts and that just feels so cool and rewarding and I do not want that to go away for good I hope ashes doesn't make it all go into the town 🙁

  12. Hardcore war players?
A lot of us would like to play wars but these "hardcore war players" do not welcome anyone that isn't part of the their hardcore elitist companies.

  13. Ashes can go this shit just as fast… They have yet to do a public test for this so called amazing system that has yet to be tested by the population of gamers… And let me remind you.. that population is well over 100mil people…. There has been 1 play test and that was a PvP test.. no other test to date…

  15. Has anyone noticed that the NW servers seem to become more unstable the longer they go without a restart?
It reminds me of when I ran a heavily modded Rist server. If I didn't restart it once a week it would get really unstable.
