  1. I can only agree my friend. As a backer of AOS I absolutely can not wait. Especially after playing alot of new world. Only took myself to lvl 20 during the closed beta and skipped the open beta just so I didn't burn myself out lol. As always another good video bud.

  2. No offence to any1 to me nw looks more like a game that want money and that´s it, they are taking all the stuff that mmo shouldn´t have like p2w and instanced content, of course it has some good stuff but to me doesnt make sence many stuff like having pvp zones but.. u can also turn off that pvp I mean does the game want to be pvp game or not? if people dont want a pvp world then do not play a pvp game.. feels like a game with no real intentions to make a goog game, just money money and money like most companies.. and people say " don´t settle if a game is not perffect" but again same mistakes and people buyying it like they didn´t know is not even close to be perfect ( JUST MY POINT OF VIEW)

  3. I have been a little concerned for the server caps in ashes. Over time I have started to feel that dividing your playerbase into servers makes the game feel smaller overall. Like instead of playing the most popular mmo ever, your playing something small and niche because the player count just isn't there. I have started to feel it's better if you can either have one mega server or allow frequent travel between servers.

  4. My issue has always been that I compare all MMOs to what I consider to be the greatest one. Star Wars Galaxies. That game near the end of it's life had just so much varied and interesting content. Player housing, player run cities, a full economy, dynamic PvP in the world, and even a fully featured space sim inspired by X-Wing Vs Tie fighter which included full interiors for large ships and multi crew gameplay. But MMOs just seem content to REDUCE their content to very shallow 1-2 month grind windows between a 4 year gap and then expansion periods. With no aspect of the social elements that make MMOs unique. Ashes ticks all my boxes. I'm looking forward to it.

  5. Haven't been keeping up with many mmos, but recently tried out Nightmare after KiraTV's video and the faction/open pvp part of this video really reminded me of it lol. The game has open pvp during the night (12-3am??? i think) and pvp is on at all times in their "dungeons" (caves/pyramids/etc). The plan was for faction based pvp and players are currently randomly assigned to one during the main quest, but there's constant complaints about it just being open world right now. It's caused a divide in the playerbase. I thought New World changed their pvp because of player feedback? Which is what's happening with Nightmare as well. Devs are trying to change it to make pve players more happy, but not sacrifice too much of their vision. Don't know the current state as I stopped following the game, but I think it's a tricky thing to balance.

Looking forward to more vids! You're currently like one of my only sources of AoC content/news because I just don't check discord that often lol.

  6. Haha, AoC is going to have a crappy launch as well. Everybody is going to play at launch and you can literally not put them on too many servers because after the first piek you need to have enough people on the servers or the game is fucked. New worlds solutions to the amount of people can not work because you can't have people switch servers

  7. Roll on Alpha 2! Long ways away but very eager to see if we see any implementations that do look like a response to recent events – LIKE feedback from the New World launch. Stephen is big on feedback so here's to hoping.

I personally am enjoying New World however I am a much more casual player now so in terms of time over days I will get alot more out of it than the regular gamers but it definitely will need more content, lets see how Amazon are able to push out content cycles.

  8. If only about 10% of the MMO player base actually want "Always Flagged" open world PVP, how popular do you expect Ashes to actually be? I don't think you're gonna be worrying about log in queues in Ashes, champ. Amazon realised this and intelligently dropped "Always Flagged" PVP and look how popular New World is now – in fact it was going to be the first game in years that I was actually going to spend money on, but unfortunately I don't think my potato can handle it's graphics.

  9. I never thought force PVP is a good idea, especially for streamer.
Imagine big streamers like Asmondgold streaming and get stream snipe and kill by hundred of players.
No big streamer gonna stream the game if they can't turn off PVP because there are people who always try to harass them.
No big stramer streaming = less promotion for the game
That is the same problem I have with ashes too.

  10. I am enjoying New World more than I thought I would, and I am liking the pve aspect more than you do, but I couldn't agree more in regards to what you said about the pvp system. If it had something akin to BDO's or what Ashes is going for, I think it would be a much better game. "Activating" the pvp mode should make it so that players get no penalties for attacking you, but they should be able to do it none the less (for a cost) even if you don't have pvp "on". That would make the amazing gathering system far more exiting.
I have a question for you: you think it's too late to change the pvp system? Since it's such a fundamental aspect of the game, it might be too big a change for post launch. It might make lot of buyiers angry. Or do you think they could get away with the change?

  11. NW capping at 2000 server population was a bad joke.
That's one of the things that most excites me about AoC, is the feeling of actual danger and consequences around every corner!

  12. I don't have much hope that anyone can implement a world PvP system that doesn't feel cheap and obtrusive. The spirit of competition in PVP is just inherently at odds with the progression fantasy MMOs are built on. But pass the copium anyway, hopefully intrepid can impress. I want AoC to be the GOAT so bad.

  13. Watching a few dev updates on Intrepids Channel from 2 – 4 years back makes me think you’re probably right that they have much more progress towards alpha 2 than they let on. Once alpha 2 is out tho, I also think your right it could be a year or more before we get beta.

    Great vidya as always

  14. I think the part that kills me the most about all this, it’s not the fact that Amazon has all the money in the world to buy as many servers as they need. It’s the simple fact that they knew how many people would be playing this at launch or around launch. That does not sit well with me for the future of this game. Because if they do not take statistical data into account I can’t trust him to take user feedback into account
