What is Ashes of Creation?
Ashes of Creation is a unique take on the MMO experience. Our world structure is dynamic and built to react to the actions of our players. Cities will rise and fall, their populations based on the history of the world as the players create it. Quests will unlock as these populations gather, their needs grow, and secrets are unlocked. As the world’s NPC structure is established in real time, players will have the ability to destroy what they’ve created, paving the way for new development, new populations, and real change. Political strife and intrigue will play a very real role in the structure of your world. Gone are the days of static worlds, change is here to stay.
Risk Vs Reward
All across Verra, you have the opportunity to experience massive warfare, participate in epic trade caravans, and gather valuable components to craft exquisite items. Not only will your fellow players be your adversaries; the creatures of the land and the very environment itself will pose a constant and fresh challenge. Will you siege castles to become royalty, defeat other guilds to showcase your prowess, shape the marketplace by being a successful trader, or earn renown by developing your artisan crafting skills? This is your story, you tell us!

Its very fine line to walk for Intrepid. You dont want every class to have the same toolkit, but all classes have to be able to do the content. Lets say sieges are the main end game feature.. If theres a class that doesnt contribute much to sieges, then there wont be a lot of people playing that class.
Look at M+ right now in WoW, there are so many interrupts and poison dispels that are required for these dungeons and priests dont have the toolkit to deal with it. So people are just playing other classes. You cant give priests those abilities because then they will have everything. Thats a terrible end game loop design on Blizzard's part.
PvP is totally different ball game in WoW. So it could be fixed. In Ashes, PvP and PvE will be happening at the same time, so i'll be interested to see how they do it.
They are balancing groups and not individual classes, but if it's more beneficial to bring 2 clerics instead of bringing a bard then thats what players will do. Not saying that is what will happen but its just an example of how players will min/max group comp. Good luck Intrepid! 😂
I agree with you. Not every class should have CC. Going back to the roots is a good idea with class skills being different. Not the modern "everyone can do everything" builds.
I, too, agree. A couple of archtypes should have a stun or two, and a couple more should have the option for breaks. But I believe both abilities should be options from the skill tree. You should have the option to live without it if you want.
