  1. Realistically if we want to see the completion of the initial massive vision of the game, I'm pretty sure they're gonna have to release the game half baked. And essentially finish up the missing chunks one patch at a time

  2. Lost faith when they changed the player housing situation, was still willing to try it out. When the inventory was revealed it was the last straw for me and knew it wasnt for me.

  3. ROFL, same exact stuff Star Citizen went through. Same exact thing. And same exact discussion/concerns/etc. Hate on it all you want but we are suckling off the same copium teat.

  4. Which characters? Like story characters? If you mean playable ones, they have a character creator, make your character look however you want. As far as npcs around the world, i think it said in the vid the nodes will be based around the look of the different races. And there are a bunch of races you can be outside of human. I think this game will actually have some of the most diverse characters in an mmo actually.

  5. Ashes feels like it is setting up to fail. I wonder if they bit off more than they can chew for all the features. Seriously, the longer this takes to come out, the more steam it is going to have, and could lead it to being less successful than it could of been. I always felt this game was overhyped, and if this conitnues this way, my thoughts may prove true.

  6. I understand the concern but I doubt this will be delayed as long as Star Citizen has. Alpha 2 is close and I trust Intrepid. I think it will provide a lot of feedback, then it will get honed. I’d only be concerned if beta looks bad or if the beta is 5years out…

  7. Idk if that is a Thumbnail or what.. But its a scam?
Thats a HUGEEEE stretch after seeing everything that is already ready and functional..
It's like the morons saying Star Citizen is a scam and meanwhile is becoming one of the only games in the industry to do something in that scale..
The problem is not about scam or combat or whatever..
The problem is that people DO NOT HAVE PATIENCE to wait 1 year.
They complain saying that '' THEY SHOULD HAVE TAKEN MORE TIME INSTEAD OF THIS RELEASE!!!!!!'' But they themselves cant wait .. they pre order and MOAN like little kittens on the forums about WHY IS IT TAKING SO LONG!!! JUST RELEASE IT!!
THE MOST MORONIC PLAYER BASE EVER IS THE MMO PLAYERBASE!

  8. Considering that riot tried and have had to go back to the drawing board demonstrates how hard it is to make a good mmo. I think ashes getting as far as they have is a testament to the capability of their team. All mmo hopes now rests on their shoulders.

  9. Bought a new pc hoping to play this but dont think I will ever get to play this now so went back to WoW. If they keep trying for perfection its gonna be to complicated for the average player imho.

  10. Why not just wait and be surprised? (or disappointed).
These days when everything is given out in pages upon pages of patch notes and dev team interviews, we pretty much know the game before they even come out.
Crazy to think that in the days gone by, we just got content and we had to find stuff out ourselves. Like an actual adventure.

  11. The sad reality is that I do not expect Alpha 2 to launch with anything more than the RiverLands, 4 races, and 4 classes, Ranger, Healer, Tank, Fighter. As it looks, we might just be getting one very in depth look at what 1 biome looks like. Which would be a massive let down for many of the players eagerly awaiting to waste their life away.
Alpha2 Launch will be a polished proof of concept. If you do not like what A2 has, I doubt you'll be interested in any amount of content they end up throwing on top later on..

  12. Ill be honest, I bought Braver of Worlds in 2018ish and and I regret it now. The hype has died for so long now.

I am a fatherif 3 and probably can't invest that much in it anymore. I suppose the only boon is a lifetime sub.

  13. I like to think they are deep in develpment for A2, we will get the zones you mentioned and all but 2/3 races.
Let see hat the fighter showcase shows us about combat/tanking role.
The marketing team will kock it out of th park when its time!

  14. The game allready feels outdated, and its not even out yet. Some of the Korean games look so far in the future compared to this. So if the Koreans start to make the gameplay better and not p2w, this game I screwed

  15. I'm just waiting for a good mmo to play with some friends. trying not to hype up anything b/c so many games recently have been letdowns or pushed out too early. Title seems to be just creating drama where there doesnt need to be any. One positive thing is at least they are in communication with development. (just compare to riot mmo, we've heard nothing except the fact that they are pretty much doing a rehaul all the sudden. Or dune who just shows promotional details and we probably won't hear from them in a while). In the meantime we have some great singleplayer and co-op games out to pass the time

  16. I predicted 2025 at it's earliest a long time ago. They want to be huge. If you want to be huge and true, this will take a seriously long friggen time. Ya'll just need to find something else to do with your life. I will see you next year. (HOPEFULLY) I remain said hopeful but who knows. 🙂

  17. Throne & Liberty just botnuked literally every bot in KR a few days ago with an established Zerg vs Zerg scene. AoC doesn't seem like it has any systems set in place to ZvZ whatsoever.

  18. Also i wouldnt mind them blocking off certain zones on the map. And add it down the road in updates. –
Alot of games do that so they can kind of have time to catch up to their ambitions. Would 100% not mind some of their zones being zoned off for later if it means itll be done right

That being said one if my bigger concerns with this is SO FAR everything theyve shown us has been very base level projects for the promised finished project.

And they dont give us updates frequently enough… most mmorpgs at this stage push out updates weekly so we can see whats happening and they give us a roadmap usually for whats to come.

When making a game it doesnt get more difficult as developement goes on, it typically gets easier because the codes, art work, UI, models and mapping/terrain have all been handled. Now you just gotta bring it all together and boom projects go by fast

Not only that but the existing team gets familiar with this project and you can have them bringing the world to life at a rapid rate.

So it is odd we dont see more haste here

  19. If alpha 2 were to launch without all these zones that are promised, I might just give up on following Ashes. As you said in the video, if it has taken them this long to make such a small part of the world, then we are gona wait for another 6+ years for it to be finished. So many huge features have barely been shown as well, like the naval system. Felt like back in alpha 1 I kept getting impressed by the rate they delivered content, but since then I have just gotten dissapointed by this slow progress rate. I am happy when they are showing the features and I think the game will be great when it releases. But when I backed the game back in 2017 I don't think anyone expected it to take anywhere near this long. So yeah I have also been losing faith, and I can't just cope anymore and asume they have completed so much more than is shown in the livestreams, cause it's getting redicilous as to how little we have actually seen of the world. Atleast we know now when the alpha 2 is coming, so at that point we can either be assured or our doubts can be confirmed about the progress of the game.
