One year is a very long time, however when it comes to developing an MMORPG – it is nothing compared to the grand Scheme of things… 2021 and 2022 have been huge for this game’s development, starting slow but showing off some real promise in recent months and I’m hoping today’s video will fast track you through the last 12 years of development in anticipation for Ashes of Creation’s Looming Alpha 2.

Hey what up boiz, The intro was 2 minutes long this time around – Did it drag on a little too long? hmm? what’s that? Drag On DEEZ NUTZ 😂 gottem

  1. We need an alpha 2 announcement. The game doesn't need to do it, but us degenerates that eagerly await every morsel of info on this game are in desperate need of better copium

  2. This is a little known fact, but Narc's YouTube career is split up to 2 different sections.

Experts refer to them as the "pre-elephant" and "post-elephant" eras.

Researches have since proved that all of the views he got before he got the elephant costume came from popular streamer Asmongold. Our lead data analyst came to the following conclusion on the topic: "Once he put on the costume, his content became detached from the rest of the mediocre content popular streamers consume for reactions, and finally became its own thing. This single change completely elevated his channel and made it watchable even without a bald man commentating over it."

From then on, history referred to this incident as "the big elephant shift".

  3. One thing to keep in mind as far as progress goes. They may only be showing us 1 system update per livestream but there's no chance basic weapon combat was the only system they worked on last month or weather the month before. They're much further along then any of us have seen. I really hope we get a crafting update sometime soon. That's the system I'm most curious about at this point.

  4. start comparing ashes to star citizen for a few videos, get the coals hot for the next combat announcer with a fresh crowd of angry haters. and stuff more socks in the bulge and never talk about it again.

  6. You know a Panetheon summary could be fun. They've had three years, but seems like they've had 5 years of setbacks. So I'm sure I've missed a bunch, despite them still moving forward a bit.

The biggest was when they were finally breaking out of "demos" and realizing their stuff wouldn't scale to something real.

  8. The pace of development seems much slower than I had hoped or expected, I like what I've been seeing but there is a growing fear that it's taking too long. Money to continue development is not the only time limit game development has, it's just the one that is usually hit. There is also a time limit on how long people remain interested before they, and their money, goes elsewhere. The longer it takes, the more likely it is for someone else to have presented a game similar enough to cash in on interest in AoC. That's the main drawback with open development, if someone else is convinced you are on to something, and they can finish before you do, you lose.

  9. Another kick ass Intro. I can't believe it's been a year since the alpha and you've lost so much hair.
I'm so excited with this recent flow of content now that their UE5 transition seems to be 'complete'… ish?

  10. Tattoo's is a pointless gimmick in mmos. 99% is running around in armor all the time. I have no idea why people are hyped by that. Lot's of other things looks good in that game though.

  11. Might be a unpopular opinion, but i really hope they take their time and flesh out everything to an extreme extend. I wouldnt care less, if the game releases in 2025 or even 2026 as long as they have tons of stuff to do and very well made quest, dungeon, boss, crafting, gathering, world-event and mini-eventdesigns. If they truely scale up the game to an extend, we have never seen bevore and the content is actually really good and digestable, we might widness a true mmo king to rule them all for quite some time, considering that most of the big cooperations in the mmo market got kinda lazy. It would take them a lot of time, money and effort to catch up and it only benefits the consumer in the long run. If they manage to release the game in an state, where there is more than enough content for 4 or 5 years from the get go, imagein how much they would be able to push the game even beyond ultimate greateness with future realeaset content.

The last few livestreams gave me a lot of hope for ashes and I am hyped. So please,… dont fuck it up and take your time creating high quality conent and even tho it is an mmo, make sure to add enough stuff to the game you can do by your own thats actually challenging and fun, because everyone needs some time ingame without allways beeing surroundet by guildmates and randoms. Thats the only consern I have with ashes. I love the fakt, that its a true mmo you need tons of people and conections in, but its awfully silent arround content you can do by yourself to just be able to still make progess and kinda chill without dealing with others everytime you want to get something done. And I dont count grinding monsters all day long… I am thinking more about 1v1 arenas, solo-challenge dungeons and riddlequests that might take months or even years to fgure out or beat, with great rewards. Dont get me wrong… I have my homies I love to hang out and playing together, but even tho they are really nice people I love to play games together, from time to time I need some space from them and I am pretty sure everyone knows what I mean by that.

I think they made a fantastic job to this point and came a long way, lets just hope steve threats his baby with all the love he can offer and create a monster of an mmorpg that swallows us all. 🙂

  12. If only Jeff Kaplan would come in lol, I doubt it would happen but it would put a lot of eyes onto the product being a former game director & designer of both WoW & Overwatch. It's almost like he would have a unique perspective on what a 'hybrid' approach could be.
