Is This Really The Next BIG MMO?

I’ve been trying to avoid news about Ashes of Creation but much like Throne and Liberty, there’s been a lot of videos coming out about it recently. Let’s check in with it and see what the hype is about!

Game Description:
Ashes of Creation is a unique take on the MMO experience. Our world structure is dynamic and built to react to the actions of our players. Cities will rise and fall, their populations based on the history of the world as the players create it. Quests will unlock as these populations gather, their needs grow, and secrets are unlocked. As the world’s NPC structure is established in real time, players will have the ability to destroy what they’ve created, paving the way for new development, new populations, and real change. Political strife and intrigue will play a very real role in the structure of your world. Gone are the days of static worlds, change is here to stay

  1. Definitely excited, I think to have that feeling of an MMO back in the days are gone though. For example when WoW first came out, there is no YT guide to do X or how to min-max your character. You literally just played the game and explored on your own. Hopefully it is fun to play and get enjoyment out of it.

  2. I call it a trinity+ system since is also bring back the support role, So Tank/heal/dps/support

Another big thing often over look is with the node system only 5 nodes can hit max level out of the 86 or so of them so each server will be different to how the world develops in some way or form since each node progression unlocks new things in the world.

Also every node above a town level (rank 3 i beleive) gets a mayor (So as somone said in your comment Karyn for president can be a thing) that the citizens of the node can elect in to choose what building gets built in the city.
Every node can be destroyed too via war so it allows new nodes to progress.

Ashes of creation devs are building a world that players exsist in (which is how old MMO were made) compared to the current building a game for the player (which is the current ideology of MMO game devs)
