Not my thing but if the game's legit I hope it finds it's audience.
It sounds like they're strapped for cash, hoping for people to pay to test their game for them.
Asking for such steep price to test pre alpha game is ridiculous
As if Generic became a MMO. Tank is called tank. Mage is called mage. All looks generic.
theres some stuff that isnt quite acurate.
Max lvl for alpha is 25, but i dont think secondary archetypes are in the game yet.
Mount respawn timer is 10 minutes, you really dont wanna let it die (also wolves lol)
Quests not showing where exactly your supposed to go is intentional (i think)
armors can be mixed and matched depending on what you want or need. Different set bonuses are also good to only a certain point, and its better to take different armor types depending on your needs
bards do mana regen very well. if you got a bard, you prob got no more problems for mana and can just keep fighting, similar is possible with mages and the enchant weapon skill.
Quests are very Barebones in the current stage of alpha. They will become more worth it later down the development
yup, shield seems to be the way to go for tank
alt+f is the pvp toggle.
corruption applies when you pvp someone and they are not flagged for pvp and dont fight back. If you get corrupted, you can no longer equip or change equipment, townguards will fight you, and you get huge xp debt and drop some pieces of gear on death. If you get higher lvls of corruption it decreases dmg dealt to players and increases dmg taken from players by huge values (90% max i think)
oh yea, pvping in the starting zone will get you banned. thats not intended behavior and will be fixed later on.
graphics are not a concern rn. this is an alpha after all. polish happens in phase 3 of alpha 2. report terrain bugs if you see any.
Current price is fair game. Alpha+Beta will be 1 to 1.5 years, maybe longer. The rest is just some nice bonus honestly.
If you are expecting a full game if you buy the alpha, dont buy it. Game is broken in many ways and you will encounter some nasty bugs. If you dont wanna put up with that, wait for full release. There is no boxprice for it and just costs 15 dollars monthly.
Personally I don’t think it’ll come out. It’s trying to do so many things at once. Also the PvP system is straight garbage. New players are going to have a horrible time trying to get into it. Or if your not the kind of person to no life this and play 12 hours a day everyday you don’t keep up and you get ganked. These devs are idiots if they think that implementing negatives to ganking will stop the griefers. You cant give people on the internet this kind of freedom to troll or it will end badly and cause most players who aren’t no lifers to just quit.
2035 full release?
There are some interesting ideas that could be cool in the future. I just personally dislike A.I. voice acting and the concept of a paid Alpha.
A1 there was a main line quest that took you all over the map and git you level 25. Was tacked to the full. Its been removed for us to test the side quests and commission quest that lead to events that are not in yet. They are testing leveling by grind. They have adjusted that because it was too fast.
As someone who has backed alphas like star citizen, this one is legit on a course to deliver. This phase is for discovering large bugs, and they havent implemented much because that keeps the scope of what causes the bugs smaller. They will expand the scope each phase. I think its legit, and its really important to not judge this game in alpha, but if you are going to anyways at least wait until like phase 3 when they implement more UI and stuff.
There was a video covering the character creator in full, if you want to have a look at a more complete tool. And the AI vouces are a place holder for Alpha.
Xps is supposed to broken down by 70-80% questing and 20-30%, but we will see once they rework the questing rewards.
Its a SCAM
Currently the demo they are asking money for has less than 1% of content they promised.
There is zero reason to do a stress test before majority of core part of the gameplay is already finished
because the data in this phase is going to be completely useless everytime they make notable progress in further development.
The ONLY reason they say they are testing scalability, stability and performance in alpha is because they know they have no content to show but really really need the money.
This game looks ugly enough for me not to care about anything in it.
