We just had our second week of Ashes of Creation Alpha 2 testing, and people may be wondering.. after 60 hours of game time, is it still fun? Or is it it already going stale?
Ashes of Creation is a unique take on the MMORPG experience. Our world structure is dynamic, and built to react to your actions. Cities will rise and fall as you shape the world of Verra. Quests and secrets will unlock as populations gather and their needs grow. As the world’s NPC structure is established in real-time, you will have the ability to destroy what’s been created, paving the way for new developments, populations, and change. Political strife and intrigue will play a very real role in the structure of your experience. Gone are the days of static worlds; change is here to stay!

first also ggs
what guild are you in?
I have to say, I loved the first weekend, but on the second I already realize "what? I grinded now houuurs just to go to the next grind spot, to grind there to go to another grind spot". It's really too much right now. Literally everything is such a time sink
Ritchie is the best Mage NA. Just sayin
lol it's a 6/10 at best if you take off the rose tinted glasses
That caravan was a character building exercise. Lmao
I miss some group grinding, as long as the classes are cool and roles are fun (axcited to play as bard, love supporting), group grinding is awesome. Also, animations look cool!
I hope to god crafting remains tough, requiring a solid group of players working together. I don't want it requiring an entire guild and the highest endgame nodes. That seems excessive and would gatekeep players not interested in that final node 5 endgame content.
I'm planning to join in Alpha 3 (maybe) and my goal in game is to hang out with a few friendly people and maybe build a few smaller nodes. I don't want to be part of the large scale stuff. And if the world truly ends up being as large as they claim when finished, there will be plenty of room for smaller node gameplay.
yet to hear the word "refund" on youtube comments, discords, etc everyone just wants to play more! and its alpha phase 1… first time i see this in any alpha, amazing
Crafting is very unbalanced atm. You need 40k experience to reach level 10 and you get 350 experience per craft. For some professions thats doable but something like animal husbandry thats literally going to take over 100 hours of crafting time and you can only craft 1 mount per station at a time plus it costs minimum 55silver.
I've been having a blast too, it's been really fun with random pvp kicking off! Also I was riding back to Joeva and dawn was happening, and wow the tops of the mountains being hit by the rising sun was amazing and beautiful! I really enjoyed the immersion and cannot wait until all the weather and season systems are in.
The difference between the first weekend and the second was night and day. It ran so smooth for me, albeit with a couple crashes.
idc what anyone says the state of this game is unacceptable for 120$ after all the crowd funding and time it's received.
I can't quite explain how GOOD it felt when there was no lag but easily one of the best feeling mage experiences of my life. I am still buzzin from the weekend binge. It was so much fun despite the expected hiccups. I loved having a season for the weekend. I thought winter would be boring but it is wild how many colors are blended so well to create a real vibe. I learned the areas I traveled through pretty well but I would have been dead ass lost if not for the map once autumn dropped on Sunday. The colors were glorious but compared to the hardy winterscape I grew used to, it was a totally new zone.
I had limited time i was able to try and play first weekend. Server crashes and the ddos attack and server stability really turned me off. I gave it another shot over this weekend and I had sooooo much fun. Almost level 13 mage now. Can't wait for weekend 3.
blinking in and stealing amnestys shit <3 classic
About rarity its not 100% true, you dont need all green ingredients to get green items, you can have 2 white one and 2 blue and it will measure average 🙂 So if you have heroic, blue, blue, green, you will still get blue weapon :d
New World Killer
Throne and Liberty Killer
WoW Killer
Ashes of Creation is the GOTY Hands Down!
The combat system in this game has the potential to be the best in the mmorpg genre I just hope they can keep making good progression and give us what we all want a good mmorpg to enjoy. Thanks for the content glad you are enjoying it
I think not being able to grind solo is definitely a bit exagerated. Sure, it's not the very best XP, but if you really know what you're doing at a great spot, you can get a rate that's pretty competitive (and i'm sure the pros at the best AOE grinding can even exceed it). Just something to keep in mind when not many groups are going at your level, or you just want to vibe a bit.
I personally prefer running solo most of the time, grinding a bit, exploring the map, working on my artisan at the same time, contributing to the buy orders to help build up our towns' crafting stations. And then I can hop into group stuff when I feel like checking it out as well, or join the guildies in a caravan run. Can't wait to get back to it next weekend!
My only complaint about winter is that it made plants/small rocks nodes harder to spot, was squinting hard this weekend. Hopefully they can add a buff when you're using a surveying tool or something to make nodes glow/easier to spot. At least it wasn't a problem for trees, hunting or fishing.
