  1. Posted my detailed combat demonstration response on the appropriate forum thread.

    As for the Dunir statue, everyone knows that Dwarves make the finest stonework, which is why Humans are reduced to pouring concrete.

  2. I just hope it doesn't evolve into a bdo clone where it's nothing more than a steamroller fest. I want a challenge with the mobs, and I'm guessing Steven was in God mode for the demo. Keep the vids coming!

  3. They should look into action combat for melee to keep it fast paced, and Tab target for ranged, as aiming becomes MUCH harder at long range.
    Or maybe give the player the ability to switch back and forth on the fly.

  4. Yeah animation cancelling will have to be a thing for a hybrid system especially for PvP, will be interesting to hear from Steven in more depth as to why they are not thinking of doing that for alpha 2. Hopefully we can start giving them play test feedback later this year 😉

  5. What I think you are referring to when you say "animation cancelling" is actually called "ability cancelling / action cancelling / self-interrupting".
    They WILL have that in the game.

    What "animation cancelling" actually is:
    Animation cancelling is when you stop a skill's animation after its effect has been applied, even though its animation didn't end yet.

    It will allow you to use multiple skills by cancelling first one's animation with the execution of the second one while still getting the "effects" from both.
    This would make you execute multiple actions in a shorter time than you are supposed to, which could increase your DPS for example if these are attack skills.

    Animation cancelling is something that comes from fighting games and it'd be completely unfit for an MMO (IMO).
    Hence they are so against it.

    In the last stream even Steven confused these 2 terms accidentally, which is why he had to clarify that they are still not doing animation cancelling after it.
    He probably misheard that part of the question as "action cancelling".
