HUGE CHANGES coming to Ashes of Creation

Read more about Ashes of Creation ➜ https://ashesofcreation.mgn.tv

Ashes of Creation is an open world MMORPG set in a fantasy environment where you can choose different classes and races to adventure through with your friends. Intrepid Studios is the developer behind the game. They’re technically an indie studio, but their creative director Steven Sharif has a clear vision for his video game: Massively Multiplayer Role Playing Game. He wants to put the massive back in MMO. Exploring dungeons, griding for gear, crafting armor/weapons, learning new spells, and competing in large scale PvP battles. High end PvE such as raids will mainly occur in the open world. Bosses will spawn and roam through the land. Are YOU ready to enter the world of Verra?

  1. Burns, you provide the highest quality Ashes content I can find. Really appreciate all the work you've done, and I'm excited to see what you can do once we all get in game.

Keep up the good work, and I hope to run into you in Verra!

  2. I applaud those creative artists who are willing to die on a given hill. But they all too often do. T&L either will or will not replace the animal morphing with actual mounts and offer more than one race. AoC either will or will not offer solid PvE options. Remember when FF14 realized its issues and scrambled to reinvent itself in the nick of time? They rode that flying chair of humility all the way to the bank. There's still time for each to break free from their hubris. Or they can bask in their 15 minutes of fame as they crash their ships against the same rocky shores that claimed the countless MMO's that came before them. Either way, …it is right now that they will remember. This very moment in time when the course could have still been corrected. But fame is such a shiny little bobble. And few can break their gaze.

  4. Happy to be in a new era, that last one wasn't fun for me. Despite everything there were a lot of people entering AoC spaces with agendas from other games and trying to imprint them on AoC, it was frustrating when most of what they were saying had already been dealt with.

I still think that fears of zerging are not worth dealing with at this point. Player collision is going to have an effect at a tactical level (there will come a point that having more people at the back isn't going to help much), and at a strategic level (as Steven alludes to) it takes 10-20 minutes to cross a node (or go through a doorway with collision). If you are at the back of a zerg, you might play for about 3 hours and never catch up to an enemy. That is going to get old fast.

  5. Honestly, I feel like A2 going to be mostly negative experience for most people. I love AoC thus far (have been in pre-A1+) but the reality is most people see A2 and probably don't realize how truly "alpha" it is. This game has so many bugs, has very little content, etc etc. It's where I expected it to be, but I'm kinda concerned people are going to try it, realize how far away it still is, and walk away with bad tastes in their mouths. It's unfortunate, and hopefully doesn't hurt things, but I guess just for anyone going in for the first time in A2… balance your expectations going in 🙂
