Ashes of Creation is an open world MMORPG set in a fantasy environment where you can choose different classes and races to adventure through with your friends. Intrepid Studios is the developer behind the game. They’re technically an indie studio, but their creative director Steven Sharif has a clear vision for his video game: Massively Multiplayer Role Playing Game. He wants to put the massive back in MMO. Exploring dungeons, griding for gear, crafting armor/weapons, learning new spells, and competing in large scale PvP battles. High end PvE such as raids will mainly occur in the open world. Bosses will spawn and roam through the land. Are YOU ready to enter the world of Verra?

first?
I'm not a bot, you're a bot!
LMAO great intro!
It is just false that sold gold is duplicated, farmed by bots! I sold over 20 million gold in New world and im 100% legit player, never used any exploit or bot etc. People fail to realize not everybody live in US and in some countries local currency is much weaker. I can earn from new world similar amount as minimum wage here and there are thousands of players like me, we even have a farming/gold seller company! I also disagree this hurts the game or causes p2w simply because i earn those items or gold and instead of using it myself im just selling it to somebody else so game balance wise there is absolutely no difference. On the other hand i agree bot farmers, expoliters etc hurting the game as they are breaking this balance..
It is just laughable they could think they can ban gold buyers, just lmao! People will still buy gold from legit sellers like me and God our gold will be expensive. While there is nothing they can do to stop it, they can not ban every single person who helps a friend nor every single person who receives help from a friend! Im sure they would abandon this not long after release.
Another banger video Doc! I hate bots in games, they ruin it, period. Kinda cool having Narc comment on your stuff, he has been around for awhile now. and again, i love the animated intro LOL
Holy crap that intro was glorious!
I’ve chewed through your whole library and loved every second! Keep crushing it. That intro…so good!
I hope they set an iron man flag on bots, then bounty their asses. A nice steady revenue stream for PvPers, and a reset of the toon.
very optimistic with ashes' approach to rwt/botting
I like the idea of killing bots.
Unless they have 100 multi box rangers stacked ready to insta headshot anyone that comes into range.
Groups of bots could be nasty.
You could have a main and then 7 support bots or something. Bards, summoners, clerics, etc.
He is correct you are going down the right path i love these vids man keep it up!
NIce one! As the copium Lord says….Keep going!!
Really good stuff, glad I found your channel
Great video! Subbed
i think 250 hrs to max lvl is too quick
This is your year, Dr. Bucky!!
I’m gonna throw out a cheeky little prediction of your channel blowing up and hitting 10K after Alpha 2 begins, before the year ends…
Great stuff, per usual!
the botters just pay for mercenaries to defend them from bot hunters (if not pvp bots)
Wait they solved botting by the game not being playble?
Or you know, just don't base your mmo on grinding and actually make it fun to play?
It's a tough one to solve. MMO'S with Active GMs have had bots. MMO'S with Anti Cheat have had bots. Basically any MMO that is remotely popular has had them historically.
Ya, I see this as a whole lot of wasted effort….who cares what other people do? Seriously, all these resources just to stop someone from making the game easier or make some cash, etc. And it will inevitably mean a big brother watch over folks and action against anything that looks suspicious? Overkill and silly.
You will go Corrupt when you kill the first non-resisting Bot. Because you have to use game time to work off corruption, the cost of being Corrupt will be prohibitive for most players to clear Bots. I like your graphics (What software do you use BTW?) but the concept is flawed. Only players with DTTFSA will opt to exterminate Bots. Random spawns will be for higher level materials and will, I believe, be the best anti-bot measure. As long as the "random" spawns are not predictable. In AC, spell tapers for an individual caster were "random" (different from player to player) based upon a seed that was concealed from players, but could be determined with some calculations. Not long after the game started, apps appeared to calculated the most likely tapers, and this fundamentally short-circuited the taper discovery mini-game (which, through trial and error, could take hours to determine the correct components of a spell for each player). Active Bot mitigation with GMs and compliance personnel is a considerable expense, which is why online games began to drop these elements decades ago. The stated Prime Directive of Intrepid is to make a good game, not a profit. If they follow through on their public declarations, their GMs and CSRs will indeed be able to suppress a large percentage of disallowed player behavior. However, in the Bot arms race, AI Bots are on the horizon, if not already in motion. These bots have the potential to mimic normal player behavior, react successfully when attacked, and to reply in a "human" manner to queries from GMs. Once an AI is trained on a game, it will be very difficult to detect them and there will indeed be highly lucrative AI Bot farms. The fight against them will never end.
Your low subscriber number caught me by surprise. I thought for sure that I was watching a video by an established youtuber. Impressive for someone so new on the platform.
It is always about spread the fear of getting banned. The only thing which really works.
Some notes on:
* Corruption & drops doesn't prevent much, players won't go corrupt for kill a bot which will be back in minutes. We can expect you should probably lure aggresive mobs like within L2, but that fight cannot be win as botters can spawn just another one somewhere else.
* Fixed spawn points helps optimize running routes, but it is also easier to detect botting (if developers want), random spawn points may make this harder, but only for more naive bots, client needs know where the resources are so server must send them over network, which means botters will know where are they. Best botting tools are standalone clients with no gui and no connection to original client, they read and write netcode communication directly so they understand every single information send there.
* That clip from NW is just shows how much AGS does not care. These routes use fixed points which can be easilly detected by reverse analyse of behaviour (probably something like S. describes). Also one GM can just stand there a perma ban every single of them.
Thanks for the awesome info and great video!
