  1. I believe this mmo will fit into a niche crowd, that actually enjoys the role playing aspect of a mmo more than technological leaps. Its still in Alpha, but im not impressed. Im still waiting to see what a next-gen mmo will look like.

I still dont understand why game developers who are making mmos wont break status quo. Why are we still dreaming up 40 man raids, that consist of endless button mashing.

Why couldnt a raid consist of just the holy trinity, with an amazing and difficult boss run. I just believe that we need to move away from the "massively" part of mmos. Less is sometimes more; this genre just needs to change.

  2. Yeah everyone in those videos comments are hyping the game and like why? Because the director said he played old mmos and understand stuff?
In any dev update you can skip randomly to some point and nothing ever happens.
    People are such sheeps.

  3. I read your comments on asmons react video and saw the alpha losers comment on your reaction aswell. And I have to agree with you on this one, ofcourse I do hope this game will succeed and they somehow change every bad thing we can clearly see with our eyes. But I have my doubts too, mainly because nothing really changed. This game is really hyped with the ceo pulling in youtubers like peon and streamers like asmon. There was a guy who made a video back in 2018 who said the exact same things you say right now, I will try to find the link to this video and place it down in the comment.

For almost 5 years now I have seen how the walking animations haven't changed 1 bit although alpha believers still think this will change. It's widely known that they purchase most of their textures and are not self made. I can clearly see how the characters and their armor do not fit the world at all. Oh btw where is this so called hybrid tab target action combat? The node system is something I was interested in because I like trying new things it sounds kinda like BDO but with massive sieges? Haven't seen any video of that btw but okay ill probably get someone saying "It's still alpha" I have seen people saying it's still alpha for the past 10 years now about any game and I don't understand how there's still people who believe saying that makes it somehow better.

The game is on some kind of balance it either has something gamebreaking or it doesn't. For example I'm really hyped for Hytale yes I like sandboxes the things they actually showed like ingame modding, creating ingame movies with in game filming software and alot of changes minecraft doesn't have that makes me think, hey these guys are actually changing an already established idea and improving it.

Still I hope you are wrong like you also said yourself but I'm 60%-40% atm and 40% is you being wrong.

The video I mentioned earlier has been made private and only the reddit post if still visable

This was in 2018 and we are now 3 years later. The CEO of this company made a very good move of including some youtubers and twitch streamers to hype this game.

  4. I mean the reason why AoC might look generic is because it's a straightforward response to what masses like in MMORPG. If it tried to deviate from the standard it would get even more negative response because it doesn't fit the taste of the mass anymore and it would be signed as another try hard Korean style MMORPG who tried to be something new that it's not. The truth is that MMORPG fan base has formed this average acquired taste for MMORPGs and it's almost impossible to deviate from and keep it as a good MMORPG game anymore.

To me the game looks like a combination of different current and previous MMORPGs and the devs just decided to cherry pick features from them which is the reason why to me it looks similar to so many previous MMORPGs that I have tried. I think it's good that they keep this open so that fans can criticize the production in order for the devs to fix things in future patches.

I don't really understand the hate for the animations. They look very similar to ESO animations which aren't bad to my mind but they definitely could be better like in BDO. Graphics look very decent for this MMO, they are like a slight upgrade from previous graphically updated MMOs. If they went with even more taxing graphical setup people would just sperg rage at it because they can't run it perfectly in instances. We have to understand that it's an MMO and that MMOs have to ease up with graphics in order to keep the fluid performance.

I partially agree with the criticism towards old generic raid systems because I'm myself someone who doesn't socialize in big groups or guilds and that only means that raids in pretty much any MMORPG is soft locked for me. I agree that there should be system with far lesser people to run these raid instances while still being hard content. I just hope that they won't put main story into raids like how WoW does it.

  5. "My opinions are pretty on point when it comes to mmos" lol there have been over 120 budgeted mmos since 2000 and around 5 have player bases currently. You predicted the most probable outcome, way to go Rain Man…
