Humans. A staple in every MMORPG. Ashes of Creation will also have humans, but perhaps with a bit of a spin. In this episode of Five Minute Opinions, Sunny talks about the races of humans available to play in Verra. He also talks about how humans are making our world implode, one grain of sand at a time. Enjoy!

Thanks, this was helpful. I miss a lot of trivia questions on a regular Twitch stream quiz show because I don't have these sorts of details stored away. Since Asheron's Call, I've played a human main character. I might make something else as a mule alt, but I never level that character beyond the necessary utility level. In AoC, however, as in most MMORPGs, the other "races" are, in the main, simply modified humans. Just like in ST TOS (with a few notable exceptions), the "aliens" are all upright, bilaterally symmetrical, two armed bipeds with primarily primate features who communicate via voice and whose cultures, languages, and writing systems are derivative of known RW systems. Quite often it is incorrect to characterize the "races" as separate "species" as they quite commonly interbreed. In AoC, and other MMORPGS, you cannot (nearly all of the time) play a quadruped (centaur, anyone?), octopod, amorphous slime, aerial vapor, or immobile stalactite. Not that I would care to. 🙂
