  1. i don't like the word scam. Ashes is definitely NOT a scam. They are seriously trying to build a game. Whether they can pull it off or not is the question to me. It may fail, but it is not a scam.

  2. Everyone bitching about them playing devils advocate and questioning some of the QUESTIONABLE things theyre doing or showing or NOT showing, yall are the reason us gamers have been getting shitty games. We need to hold all of our favorite game developers accountable at all times. Were not supposed to just suck them off and take everything they say as the truth. If you want the game to be as good as you claim you want it to be, hold the devs accountable.

  3. Narc you need to stop … I do actualy think you are hurting your content.
When you look at "the space tomato" to learn about server meshing, you did realise that your content has a path to grown up.

But you still actualy farming the same sh*t again and again, clickbait after clickbait When there is much much more quality subject to talk about AoC.
Now it's been 6 videos, you decide for some random reason to "farm" view by clashing 2 community. This is not what I want from you.

You have the right to do some much more quality driven content and deep dive into lore, classes, system, gameplay, ect …
You don't need to be hard stuck as the "copium lord", juste try new things more complexe, more visualy elaborated, …

For exemple, even if the subject of this video is not that great on my opinion, I would have watch a "resume" of your discution with SaltEMike where you go over your thinking when chating with him, with more elaborat thought.

You need to realise that you are in competition with other video avaible on the platform, It only take 1 click to find something else to watch
and I don't think you are in a good enough position for you name to be able to retaine people from switching, you are not asmongold…

  4. To the point on ashes and star citizen devs acting and becoming more corporate, i think thats sooo wrong. You dont need to act corporate to be sucessfull. Asmongold dosent have filters for example and he is very sucessfull. If you want to take it to a greater scale take elon musk, whatever you might think of him, hes defenitly not acting "corporate". So this whole idea of "Oh, we cant do or say that anymore because we are to big now or somthing" is absolute BS.

  5. figuring out population density is literally the biggest challenge MMOs have. Make it good when its crowded and not so crowded….it needs to feel good during peak hours and off peak hours…..or 6 months after launch and half of the pop is no longer logging in. If they solve this problem, everything else is easy. Having a world that adjusts and grows organically with nodes should definitely help, meaning if certain areas lose pop or become abandoned, maybe the world swallows them back up and it organically evolves, rather than just leaving ghost towns behind.

  6. I think this speculation that just because they haven't showed it means it doesn't exist is false. This may be true for SC who shows things they dont even have yet, I think Steven and AoC often keep things close to the chest, like server meshing coming out of nowhere, without hyping it for years before even having a test of it. I think A2 will have plenty of surprises for players…

  7. I also think you need Human Dungeon Masters able to put in events and changing things to make it interesting and to trip people up. I see that happening in Pax Dei the encomony collapsing.

  8. The last thing I will say if all three devs Ashes of Creation, the New Dune game and Star Citizen Server meshing teams dont come together and share what they have learned well that will be a big mistake as they could make it better than each one team can.

  9. Narc, they're so disorganized because they're an indie studio. If you got to lay your eyes on the development pipeline of a studio operating at that kind of capacity it would melt your noggin. Remember Steven talking about sharing excel spreadsheets and talking about them every day, all that's corpo shit. There is such a mind boggling amount of planning involved in a game this big. Time, money, available devs, this dev can do that, this one can do this, but also that, this project is going to take 2 months, but actually takes 3 which doesn't allow this dev to continue on with his next project so we're swapping him over here which means we have to swap this guy over here.

It's a fucking shit show and no studio gets it 100%, it's still being figured out and it's highly dynamic so there will always be problems. It nuts dude

  10. As someone who really likes when devs talk about game dev stuff on their dev streams… I thought that the recent server meshing video was really cool. They were talking and introducing a technology that's probably going to be foundational of future mmos. And, as someone who has been following the dev journey of some games for almost a decade at this point (exanima, zomboid…), sometimes the devs will realize that they need some major piece of tech that it's not actually developed yet, and everything they want to do is heavily dependent on it, so they have to stop everything and focus on it. And it's not like they didn't know such tech was going to be needed, it's just that they weren't at the point where they had to develop it. And that's what they had to show for themselves this time: a massive update on a background tech that's probably going to be the foundation of their whole game going forward. It's not the most exciting stuff for the casual gamer, but, the casual gamer is also unlikely to watch the 2 hours dev stream anyway. So they're making that showcase for the most avid and interested viewers.

  11. @saltEmike 100% hear you on "they sell you on the idea of what the game could be"… With vagueness etc… but at the end of the day, it ain't that yet… And it may never be what we want it to be… Also, there seems to be groups of the community who each want a different thing for the game (let alone each individual player having a different idea of what it "could" be). Kinda like the PVPer vs PVEer dynamics which may (will) be difficult for the developers to reconcile. Anyways… I'm still here, inhaling the copium; but I appreciate your guys more "constructively criticize" sort of approach at following these projects. I've only recently discovered Ashes (SC for a little while… Only a year still though) – same to @Narc thanks guys ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

  14. It will be interesting to see how environmentally ravaged the nodes in the river lands will be if they overload them.
The consequences of over farming will be interesting to see if they are implemented on launch
