Glorious Ashes of Creation Community! Thanks for joining us again for another Development Update. As with every update, these are work-in-progress for example our VFX, and UI reward tables, so we want your feedback and thoughts. Our Event System allows players to progress through pop-up events in the world – these digestible content challenges will allow folks to work together and meet new friends! We can't wait to see you on Verra in 2024! 🙌🏽💕
The flora (grass, flowers, nature) looks so stunning. Same with players and gear. I noticed that it was very hard to see anything other than spells when in group fights – can't see any of what the melee are doing for instance. Also the blue/white spells looks the same (i guess they should be separated as lightning and ice). The blue ball spell is especially too prominent – I guess there are ways to make spells look cool without the whole screen blinking like a disco. The mouse cursor is small and and it looks a bit finicky to target things on screen that moves around fast. Also, when the player has targeted an enemy, the circle below the target is often hidden under grass and there's no way to know what is targeted.

I've been supporting you for almost 3 years by being registered on the site and buying mounts.
But I have to admit that it's good, it's beautiful but it's long.
I just hope our wait will be rewarded.
And above all, there is a lot to do to make the game more balanced and, above all, accessible.
If only we could talk directly with a developer…
I thought the stream was a really good showcase of what we can expect as an adventurer being tasked with an open world event. I know that the presentation doesn't indicate what the final reward quantities will be for completing the event or even the final state of the event system, but id love to know if the reward table only includes raw material or if it could be weapons or armor, or if the mobs that you may encounter from the event can drop items. Also, have you guys thought of making that intermission before the final boss of the event skippable if enough people vote to skip it like (3/4 majority vote)?
Walking back in stealth mode should look more aggressive. Currently it looks like taking a walk in the part, but backwards.
In an earlier video you guys mentioned world bosses (I don't remember which video). I am curious to know what kind of world bosses you plan implementing. Will they all be contested or will they be ones where everyone will need to work together to bring it down, or perhaps a mix of the two? I look forward to playing the game. Thanks.

Im optimistic but still cautious with so many mmos that have come and gone but this game has promise and a lot of it theres gonna be some mistakes etc. but Im hoping this team notices them and bugs as quickly as possible and Im looking forward to adventuring in this world
ive been lightly keeping up with updates and development in the game, random question, does anyone know if there will be "rare" pieces of gear? I like the idea of super low chance drop rates for gear and seeing everyone wearing unique gear that wasnt just "transmogged" to look cool.

Interesting to hear you describe the company as 'family-like'. While this can offer a supportive work environment, remember to clarify what that means in terms of professional boundaries and career development. (A family environment can introduce blurred boundaries, inequality, high emotional cost, etc.)

56:30 I find that just announcing that Alpha 2 is going to be in 2024 to be damage control.
Like, no shit its going to be in 2024, if it wasn't, that we would have big issues regarding the game development pace.
And my biggest annoyance with this, is Intrepid again overhyping stuff, I would rather that it would be said: yeah is going to be in 2024 and hype it with an actual date when its confirmed.
Is Steven okay? Every video I see of him he's always coughing at this point I'm genuinely concerned about the guys health.

hello just have a quick question i herd margaret say if u had acess to alpha 1 dosent mean you have acess to alpha 2 but i tought the alpha one key was for all future test 😀 anyone no anything <3

Alpha 2 absolutely 100% shouldn't be persistent. No reason to remove the opportunity of doing a variety of tests a persistent environment wouldn't allow.

Can Server Mergers be designed to take advantage of systems like World Events, Story Arcs, Weather and so on, to become part of the history of those servers, or are characters supposed to act as if they didn't happen?

Seems to me that a MMO that could make Server Mergers into something cool instead of an ugly necessity would be awesome.

Might be too early for this question but figured I'd ask anyways. What is y'alls overall philosophy towards leveling? As in, is it just a means to get to the end game or would you prefer the leveling experience to be an epic adventure unto itself? World of Warcraft for example has so much dev time put into leveling quests but you're average new player doesn't get to experience 90% of it because of how stream lined they've made the process to get players to end game faster for things such as raiding. Sure, you can level alts in weeks instead of months now but it made the game feel like less of an adventure and more like a chore.
Other than that, love watching these videos, hope I can get into Alpha 2!
Just a question. Will there be underground Nodes? Like with dwarves having underground strongholds and high mining nodes etc.
Sometimes I like to pretend like I work on games and come up with ideas. In order to contast the progress made in Alpha 2, there should be a realm available of Alpha 1 that is live while Alpha 2 is live. That way anyone who thinks Alpha 2 is lacking features and quality can log into the Alpha 1 realm and clearly see the difference in real time without needing to remember or be told what Alpha 1 was like.
Is it possible for players in positions of influence, ie. mayors, to plot their/community plans in game.
Thinking strategy game style, right click research 5 steps down the tree and Civ ques the requisite techs.
So a well organized node with a efficient mayor, has some extra protections from defaulting if say their pc explodes, instead of defaulting after a timer expires, after a much shorter timer the node will auto que the "suggested" or "highlighted" step in progression.
These plans/highlights could carry over from previous mayors after elections too, so a community can agree on a path of progression, plot it out through various in game systems and each new mayor would not have to recall a vote or decision made by the node or guilds during a previous mayors reign, while not set in stone the ability to track community goals in terms of node buildings to unlock etc. I think would be great QOL (not just for each new mayor, but protentionally for every player using a node), gives another metric for players to judge their mayors competence too.
A further point to player positions of influence, as you confirmed these are more then just Mayor.
Along with benefits and powers they must come with responsibilities too surely, I like how the mayor system has this integrally.
Nit picky, but I have to say that I hope damage, hp, etc. gets increased. I like seeing big numbers, big damage. haha
