  1. An MMORPG shouldn't be too simple and streamlined or else it gets tedious and stale. On the other hand, an MMORPG shouldn't be too complex and convoluted or else it becomes tiresome and a chore.

    I hope Ashes is able to find balance between those two things so that it's a rewarding experience while not being tedious or a chore.

  2. This was such a great livestream and the Night/Day cycle improvements were just stellar! I love the changes to the profession system and can't wait to test all of these things in Alpha 2 next year! Big shoutout to the profession team for hitting it out of the park!

  3. Steven really needs to learn how to stay on task in these videos. A dev will be midsentence or taking him to see how something works and he'll completely ignore them or look at something else.

  4. Amazing! – I don't think people quite realize yet just how influential this game will be when it releases. The amount of nuance and care that's put into development shines brightly, I've been following it since Alpha One. This game is already fully funded. That's huge and people can't forget that. As Steven has said many times, Intrepid is not beholden to outside actors – the game will be released when it's ready, and man oh man, I wait with baited breath! What a glorious day!

  5. Hey AoC.
    In terms of crafting… I think it would be better if every character had ONE profession, since this forces the players to cooperate with one another and socialize and trade.

    Why:
    In ESO, through convenience, my character has every crafting skill in the game on max and not once did I have to trade or buy something from some one for crafting.
    WoW has a limit of 2 crafting professions, and even with that I rarely ever have to trade with any one. When I mean rarely I mean something akin to once every few months I MIGHT need something. So with AoC, you'll have less interaction than wow.

  6. Why don't you guys start releasing more alphas? You have millions up on millions of players that would be happy to play through the remaining development. If I knew I could an expect an update every three months or so I wouldnt mind a sub fee at all.

  7. Now that pre-order packs are going a while for some time, are there any plans to introduce some transformations/skins similar to the Angel/Demon/Fire/Ice from the Kickstarter Campaigns? I know there were talks about possibly adding more in the future but haven't heard anything about these in years. Personally I'm holding off on getting packages until I can grab one w/ one of those, or the extremely rare chance I can find an unused Kickstarter key. I'd love to see the skins in game, especially the Fire skin at night 👀🔥
