Sunny got it, DDOS attacks happen mostly as a ransom. They just want your money!
We do noooot negotiate with terrorists!
#buybitcoin and also DDOS attackers should kick rocks.
Server opening wasn't delayed last weekend. That was the weekend before. This time, even though there were ddos attacks again, it ran surprisingly well. They had the highest player count and the smoothest servers. I was very impressed.
I work in Cyber Security, and Sunny's pretty spot on for some of those possible motivations. Especially considering Steven implied it was a sophisticated attack, I'm gonna agree that the goal is likely monetary gain or just notoriety given the eyes on Ashes right now.
DDosers are scum.
Sunny there is a 4th… Intrepid hired a company to cause disruption to help identify holes/weaknesses… aka Chaos Monkey.
