Over the past few months I’ve become more and more disenfranchised with both Intrepid Studios and their Ashes of Creation project. Even the slight increase in optimism I had last month was overshadowed by the announcement that Intrepid decided to augment certain abilities and not tell anyone that. This month I will say again that I am more optimistic about the direction Ashes of Creation is taking, both because the game is starting to shape up but also because they are listening to community feedback and improving the livestream. The video was 20 minutes long, always on point, and didn’t feel like a never ending story. By the time the video segment was done, I was left inspired that where we are now is a better place than where we were before the livestream.
With that said, Intrepid still has a number of checkboxes to check to restore my confidence. We need a definitive answer on the cosmetics of both freehold and ship skins that have been previously sold. We need updates on pretty much everything and anything that has been cut from the game in order to avoid anymore crossbow surprises. If Intrepid could manage to do that, I’d think they’d be in a much better position.

  1. Personally i think World Bosses should be available and spawn 24/7h at random times. That would give smaller guilds and smaller groups in World PvP setting a chance to get the World Boss as well instead of just the bigger guilds.

    Just my opinion and didn't think it further than that, haha.

    Out of curiosity regarding to disenfranchising yourself from Intrepid and Ashes of Creation (i am a bit out of the loop, sorry), did something happen with them for you to have made that decision? 😮

  2. Thanks for the recap. I haven't been following the last Devstream but this one was really fun to watch.

    About the idea of kicking or not a member before the loot, it sounds better the FF system, I prefer take the risk oh having a troll member in my party that taking the risk of me being kicked out from one.

    I hope they talk about this again in a future

  3. i think them wanting to try and make this game more all about the players is great but they are really not understanding of the mmo player base if they think alot of raid leaders would give a crap about their reputation cause they are getting the content done meanwhile the person who is kicked is not

  4. there will be huge problem if this game dont have more channels on server,i remember that from BDO bcs there is also every boss,dungeons open world,so some idiots lvl 50 can come here and kill him every time quick!So i expect game like Ashes of Creation will have channels on server also there will be between 10-15k players per server what is crazy number!

  5. We tend to agree more than disagree on the livestreams, and this was no exception. I've been quite negative about their recent livestreams and yesterday I was very very pleased, and even let myself tip my toe into the hype pool for a second. This opinion had very little to do with the quality of the game or content that was shown, but the fact that Intrepid has been listening, internalizing and taking action with GOOD feedback. Looking forward to see what the second half of 2023 holds.

  6. One of the biggest problems I am having with Intrepid is they are fine-tuning half of the base classes without adding anything from the other 4. What happens when they get the balance perfect, but now have to add in 4 more archetypes? I'm also not a so much of a fan of a lot of the abilities seeming to be weapon dependent. Another thing that drew me initially was the idea that any class could use any weapon. Some of these abilities seem to make this a lie.

  7. If there is a Dps/Healing meter then yes a raid leader should be able to kick or atleast limit who gets loot, that also brings up the question of if the player is bad/lacking in mechanics or just lacking gear.

  8. Maybe the Raid leader can kick all the way until the Boss hits 25% HP. That allows them to kick dead weight/afks, but not fuck over someone right before the loot drops.

  9. imo World bosses should be available outside of prime time as well. I think It would be good to have them spawn weighted towards prime time but not only during prime time. Something like it can't spawn more than 3 hours before or after prime time so the window would be much wider than just prime time without leaving it open all day. My concern is that there are people that can't make the entirety of prime time and may only catch the start or end because of their scheduling. I would avoid having it spawn at any time of the day since that might lead to potentially problematic player interactions but that is more conjecture than anything concrete.

  10. 11:10 Since you don't get corruption for such a move, I think it's likely to be a quit moment for players when they experience that behaviour during early leveling in the smaller raids.

  11. Kicking people should come down to a majority vote.

    Locking them in upon combat let’s them afk and roll on loot. Allowing them to be kicked any time allows the raid leader to be a douche.
