  1. 4:11 THIS. This is the right thing to praise the difficulty during normal leveling. "If you pull two or more moves you need to use your whole kit to survive", meaning you need to play your class at high skill level to get through, not the "you pick a second mob and you're dead", that's just be looking out for other mobs and that's all the "difficulty".
5:46: FFXIV has actually some decently challenging content in the world. Some FATEs are genuinely hard if you don't have a group with you, some job quests do require you to be thoughtful of how you play the fight or you may die and have to try it again (though in repeats you have a choice to do it in an easier difficulty setting, but it's a choice).

  2. Why you hate GW2 so much? The end game loop is the whole game. It sounds like you don't like freedom. You use words like mandatory. If that's your idea of fun there's nothing wrong with that. You dog o GW2 A LOT. It's not a bad game, it's just not for YOU. I understand you're tryna build up an ashes of creation channel, but all you do is shit on other games. I'm gonna be honest bro, ashes isn't going to live up to the hype. No game ever does. I can't wait to see if you're honest about it during the launch or if you try to defend it. Also, I can't wait for the next "WoW" killer to see if you grift over to that game.

  3. I hope leveling isn’t the only thing to do in ashes. Steven has made it seem like you could become a master breeder at level 1 and never level. I think it would be cool to see low level players who got rich playing the market early on or honed their blacksmithing craft off the auction house without ever leveling. Leveling to me = getting better at combat and I never liked that a master in a trade is also required to be a master at combat.

  4. Casulal content should be the content you can solo or at least need one more. Hogger in WoW is the best example. But it should be challenging. It is more rewarding to complete a challenging quest in the 1-2 hours you can play than do 8 braindead quests. As a casual MMORPG player, I take offence whenever someone thinks we, casuals, want BDO style grind or modern WoW quests that can be completed by a lobotomised bonobo with ADHD

    Great vid Narc, as always.

  5. Yes this is very prevalent in all current mmos GW2 for example. A content creator did a challenge which he played as a ranger and did not use one attack or utility skill and let his pet do everything for him. He completed the entire core storyline with that play style to prove that very point. Its sad how braindead open world content has become in all mmos now.
